Stepmania using all CPU.

I used to play SM constantly, the 3.0 final. No problems whatsoever. I did this for almost a year. I downloaded songs, no hitches. I add some new songs and play for like three days and don't add any more. I go to play again, and suddenly Stepmania eats up ALL my CPU and freezes for 7 seconds or so, un freezes for 2 and then repeats. I got the new client off www.stepmania.com aswell. It's not my computer I am running on a 1.8 ghz.

do you have any other progs open?

how much ram do you have?

Check if any other thing over near your clock if things are running, like I have to close AIMs, Yahoo, MSN, RealOne, and Steam to get the best out of Step.

1. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Stepmania.

2. Try not using any skins or announcers.

3. Check your computer for virii and spyware.

4. Cry.
