DDR-n00b needs BUY-tipps

hi,
i´m from germany, so excuse my bad english.

i´ve started with a "BigBen/4Gamers" softpad and "Dancing Stage Megamix" (European version PS2)
then i saw STEPMANIA, and leech 1200 songs! but still can´t play them.

i order a second dancemat, this time a very cheap "Venom"-topway-like pad.
and 2 adapters from SOYO.
the "Venom" pad suXxX, and the adapters don´t work right,
up+down & left+right "flickers" (change often in one second <---don´t know the english word)

ok,
now i´m thinking to buy a metal-pad
but i dont find tests, reviews ect. references ...
can someone recommend me a metal pad,
ehrm ... the BEST metal pad!

in an other forum they told me to buy the http://www.cobaltflux.com/
but this is a lot of money, and all the infos on their homepage are too good to believe.
every user-review sounds like marketing.
so i´m a little bit distrustfull.

Well, your best bets are CobaltFlux, Red Octane's Ignition pad, or if you have some spare time, you could build a metal pad, I built one within 2 weeks. But that's because i didn't have that many of the right tools. You should check out the "My homemade pad" thread in the DDR Console games forum. Hope that helped a bit.

i will check the shipping, but 300$ + 250$(shipping) is hardcore.
i´m really a low-skiller, today i made "kind lady" with 4 foots with an AA,
and i was very happy about it,
so you can see that 550$ for such a low-skill is pretty much.
