dwi skin-making expertise needed

Alright, I'm trying to make my own skin, but it's not too much. I'm trying to change the mods for now, nothing else at the moment. I copied and pasted Default and made a separate skin for me, copied the PNG of the mod pic, made it a BMP, edited it, made it a PNG again, and put it in place of the default picture. However, it doesn't work. When I go up to the mod selector thingy (press select), nothing shows up. No highlighted thing, no pics for the mods when I select them, nothing. The words (Speed, Boost, Appear, etc.) are visible, however. Any ideas?

One note, I'm on DWI 2.5, thanks in advance
