Stepmania Note Option

I downloaded Stepmania Alpha 2 and realized that i cannot use the note option that shows notes of different beats. Has anyone been able to resolve this?

Usually, only final builds of Stepmania can support things like note skin and themes. The alpha version is not a final build.

Earler CVS builds allowed different note styles to work for me, but since Alpha 1, I've had no dice. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. I personally don't use them too much so it's not an issue with me.
