3. i just want to here some DDR "battle scars" like ive countlessly bruised my knees doing knee drops E15.gif

1. I've always said point five nine

2. Speeding up the arrows decreases the amount of chaos but doesn't decrease the difficulty of the song's steps themselves.

3. For a long time I had scabs under my big toenails... parts of the underside of my feet are peeling up. I've also had a puss blister on the ball of my foot before. My metal pads at home have torn up many pairs of socks...

hehehehe... ME AGAIN!

Actually, here's my shindig...

1. I've always called it 59 (fity nine... not fifty... FITY!)

2. Speed mods are good for sight reading, but I don't use em anyways.

3. Worst I had was a cramp on POP4... OF COURSE... I had been playing for over 10 hours that day... and I was doin' my freestylin' (which you shall not have! E15.gif ).
Also I went for a kneedrop once and hit the bolts... disturb.gif

I call it "point five nine," but the original pronounciation should be in Japanese--it's pronounced "Ten Go Ku," which sounds exactly like the expression used for "Heaven." (Heaven is a .59 Metallic Grey?)

Reading's only part of it. We've had a discussion on this before, in numerous other threads. I don't like using Speed Mods, but if it'll get me through better than at 1x (see: So Deep), I'll use it until I get the routine down.

None, just numerous cases of leg atrophy.

I've never played the song frown.gif but i always just called it "five nine"... now that i think about it i guess i'd call it "point five nine".. and good observation about heaven there =)

Speed mods...kinda double edged sword. It makes slow songs a lot easier to read, but has anyone tried max300 on 3X speed? quite difficult... So far i've only managed to work up a B on it, whereas i AA it most times on 1X.

And for battle scars, only hitting my knees on the rivets and stuff like that, got various blisters etc... athletes foot for a while, that sucked frown.gif

1. I always call it point five nine.
2. I've only used speed mods on My Summer Love (kinda embarrasing).
3. I costantly get blisters, but that's pretty much it.

Argh, what do you call a .44 Magnum? You don't call it a point fourty four Magnum, you call it a 44 calibur magnum.

The song is called 59 calibur.

1. I just say point five-nine.

2. Someone said this before, but speed mods can really work both ways.

3. I'm proud to say that I have never injured myself playing DDR. riiight.gif

1 - I have to go with Loopy Chew and say Tengoku. The original language is usually the best choice.

2 - I gotta go with someone who responded to this topic on another thread. He basically said that if using speed mods help you to play your best, then what is the harm in using them? I usually use a 1.5x mod on anything under around 230 bpm; faster on slower songs. They help me to play as well as I know I can, so what's the harm?

3 - No DDR battle scars here, although I did play last weekend while on the mend from a nasty sunburn.

1. I always called it "point fifty-nine" but as the others have said, I think I'll start calling it 59 calibur.

2. I think almost every song was designed to be its hardest at 1x.

3. I've pulled countless things in my body while playing DDR. At one point I almost sprained my ankle playing, but it was nothing, so I just forgot about it.

1. fiftynine
2. i play every song on at least 2x, minus the max's, which i play at 1.5x. i can still AA bag 1x, however. i don't use mods as a crutch, but as an aid to my PA.
3. none, really

Ten go ku~ how interesting, I always thought .59 is just some random number... but I should have known better, I mean, look at 573...

But anyway, back to the questions.

1. Point Five Nine, always.
2. Any song from below 180 bpm sped up to 1.5x makes the song easier, any song from below 130 bpm sped up to 2.0x makes it easier; any song at about 65 bpm (guess which one!) sped up to 5.0x makes it easier. It's basically a pattern-reading problem; your feet does the same amount of work but it's easier on the eyes. If making things easier is a form of cheating, then I would consider it cheating... but besides swapping Oni difficulty to land a place in the Extreme IR, the game is really whatever you make out of it, so I "cheat" and I don't really feel bad about it.
3. No visible bruises, but my feet is in constant pain because of DDR.

1. I just say 59, no need to say point 59 and all that crap.

2. To me it helps sight-reading and makes PAing easier.

3. I bruised my knee doing the last step of Era (the slow one) and somehoe fell off the pad on Dam Dariram KCP with a crowd. How embrassing? I know, I know! I got back again and did the song over and showed the crowd what I did earlier didn't affect my performance.
