Hey, if you had a PS1, and you could get one whole series of Bemani games, which one would it be (ie, DDR Mixes 1-5 + every other mix)? Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, or Pop'n Music?

I suppose Beatmania since DDR is boring and easy, and I've never tried Pop 'n' Music.

I would get the Pop'n Music series only if I could play on an ASC..

So that means, I'd probably get Beatmania. Just because 5th Mix owns.

It would take a large brain tumor inside my head for me to buy any DDR though.

I say Pop'n Music.

Plunk down the $400 for the Arcade Style Controller and no other Bemani game beats it in the Fun-Factor zone.

I would buy a *offical*
IIDX controller -$90ish
Japanese PSX2- $250ish
BMIIDX 6th Style-$70ish
Memory card for PSX2 (oviously E15.gif )-$20

Then you will have a massive amount of fun.
Although PnM is fun, you should first make sure you like the game enough to shell out over $400 to a ASC. If you go with mine, now you have a JPSX2 and can just go out and buy whatever other bemani at later times.

Uh... I think the reason he's not doing that is because 1) he most likely doesn't have $500, and 2) he has a Japanese PS1 and wants games for it.

Nah, Tigers right. I've played every bemani known to man (except for that god awful martial beat) and Pop'n Music really IS the best.

I reccomend:

J-PS2
Pop'n controller (NOT AN ASC. I DESERVE TO GET ONE FIRST BEFORE YOU ASSHATS.)
Pop'n Music Best Hits or 8 (Best Hits is great for beginers)

And then you should go out and buy me an ASC.

Only for some people. I've been playing for 4 1/2 years, and I still like DDR.

Well, since there's no PS1 version of Drummania, get Pop'n Music. It's got tons of good music. For PS1, you really only need 6, and maybe 5.

I'm looking for a game I'll have LOTS of fun with, and something I won't get tired of easily, but it has to have some challenge at least. Surely I'm getting either PNM or BM, since I already have DDR and it's kinda getting old. I can get the whole BM collection (not including 6th + Core and Sounds of Japan) with a DJ Station Pro controller for $180. I can also get PNM 1-5 with a Konami PNM controller (NOT ASC) for $200. Which one should I get? Thanks.

Yeah, I find Pop'n Music to be tons more fun, personally. PNM6 for PS1 is very good. Best Hits for PS2 is good as well, but the song list is relatively small for a PNM game (which are known to hit around 100 at times.) I haven't gotten my hands on 7 or 8 for PS2 yet, but I will sooner or later. Actually, that gives me a fabulous idea... Heh.

But anyway, here's the song list for Pop'n Music 6:
http://www.konamistudio.com/pm6/music.html
And Pop'n Music 7:
http://www.konamistudio.com/pm7/mu_02.html

I don't see a song list for PNM 8 for PS2. Has it been released yet? The Internet Ranking dates are 7/24-8/28, so I have a feeling it hasn't yet.

Rats. How speedy is the shipping on preordered games from Japanvideogames? They show it being released 7/3. Do you think it might come within a week or two of release?

I guess I'll be getting Pop'n then. The set I'm getting doesn't come with 6th, but I guess I'll get that later. I'll just have to keep myself busy with 1-5. Anyways, even though I don't have the ACS controller, will it still be jolly fun? riiight.gif
