Has anyone let it cycle through the 'Unlock' screen? Does it give any indication of whether or not you have to manually unlock the rest (a countdown a la MAX2?) or if another code is required?

I believe people have verified that you don't need to clear the Player Tendency (which would make more sense because that would presumably reset Player's Best/Worst and has nothing to do with points). I'm not sure myself, but I've heard it a few times on various message boards.

Why does it unlock six "separate" things?

Why doesn't Konami have it posted on the Extreme website? Was it found out unofficially?

Apparantly Konami faxed many arcades the code earlier today. (Or was that yesterday?) Bemanistyle just got a jump on the gun. Whether one influenced the other is debatable though.

Right, which is what I said. Yeah, I'm 95% positive you don't have to do that.

I didn't have to clear anything to use that unlock code. It maintained the pop 1-16 and players worst.....

I didn't even see the "Clear Player's Tendency" at all in the Secret Options area. Just Append, Initialize, and Exit.

Worked for me. It still doesn't show the countdown of points. Just the ??? for the numbers that aren't unlocked, then at the end it shows you what is unlocked so far (Ex: Unlocks 1-6).

You find it odd that people who work in the arcades (thus having vivid status for "bringing us bemani") are posting in a thread with information that pretty much has to be used by people who work in arcades? E10.gif

There are a fair number of vivid people on various regional boards. Just have to look in the right spots.

[Edit: it WAS a rumor.]

At the unlock screen, it scrolls through the numbers that aren't unlocked first, and then shows the unlocks. So for example, the 1-6 code scrolls from 7 to 30 and then 1 through 6.

This was only put up yesterday, though. It's the right code, as you can see, and without pulling out my dictionaries it looks like you don't have to reset the player records.

A lot of people have asked but the questions get ignored. Does ANYONE know how stuff gets unlocked, is it via points as on 7th or only through entering the codes? Ive seen the pictures of the unlock screen, and it doesn't show any points, just the screen showing whats been unlocked.

I heard that the reason they faxed the codes is because it is corresponding to the online ranking system, which is going pieces at a time. So when the ranking is closed for this set of onis, then I think they will release another unlock code for the next set of onis for online ranking. Makes sense and keeps it organized with everyone on a level playing field. But that's just what I heard.
