Edit: The problem was the solder. I was using electrical solder instead of metal work solder . Thanks though

For one side, can't you just screw it into the base with the wire wrapped around the screw? No need fo solder. For the other side, are you able to wrap the wire inside a bracked hole and keep it taped up or use some other method of pressure so it won't move? |

Yeah, I did that for the bottom plate. I put electrical tape around the soldered wire to keep it stuck together, but it comes off somehow. I'm going to Home Depot later today to see if they could help. It may be the solder gun because I am using two, but one is old and the other is new. |
