Pad (CF) Trouble with 2+ buttons

This is a common problem, but I forget the solution and I don't feel like spending an hour finding the solution. The pad stops registering buttons when I press two at a time.

Everything was working perfectly until I cleaned the pad, and now for some reason I'm getting this issue. I think it's a software related problem, which boggles my mind why disassembling the pad would change something like this...

EDIT: Fixed. There is a wire in the center button that had lost contact with the bottom sheet metal. It needs to get a signal in order for the rest of the buttons to work.
