I am looking to buy a metal pad for home. I want it to have a bar. What is the best pad I can buy with a bar?

A few guidelines:
- I will not commission someone to make me one.
- I will not buy off ebay, if the pad is available I would like to buy it from a website.
- Costs between 250 and 400$ for base price without tax or shipping.
- The pad must be AVAILABLE. I can't wait for twelve years for more blue sharks to be in stock.

I want a pad with an arcade feel, something I can heel toe or bracket rape with. Thanks.

Nothing. Barred Bluesharks are no longer made, CobaltFluxes are barless, and no other metal pad is reliable. You're gonna have to build a pad.

So TXes aren't that good. E2.gif .

I guess I will try to use a chair or something. Which metal pad would be best?

Colbalt Flux with arcade mod kit?

Then Cobalt Flux w/ arcade mod, yes. If you really want something cheaper, you can try the RedOctane Afterburner, but anything else you could possibly find (not home-built) is crap.

Do the people who make TX pads and the like know that you actually have to stand on it and step on it?

Ok thanks, I guess I'll get that.

Anybody know a good bar height to your height ratio?

I'm 5'7 how tall should the chair I use as the bar be?

I think it's well established that the optimal man to bar ratio is the golden ratio...

i thought everyone knew that....

Wow, never heard that before devout, nice find.

You can do that or use the official bar height of 38"

I've never heard of the golden ratio before. But I will go with the arcade bar height to make it seem more like the arcade. Thanks!

I was being facetious. Just grab whatever chair is in your kitchen!

Some things came up and I don't really have the money to spend on a cobalt flux anymore. What I am looking for also changed. I am look for a pad that is 250$ or less after shipping+ handling. I am looking for a metal pad that will last a long time. I would prefer if it came with atleast a six month warranty. I also want a pad where I don't need maintenance, as whenever I try to fix a pad I end up screwing it up even more and turning a 10minute task to a 40$ replacement.
So i need

- relatively cheap
- Long warranty
- no maintenance
- made by a trusted brand

It doesn't have to have brackets/be arcade like.

I am thinking of
Red octane afterburner

Should I get the afterburner? I heard its a good pad, but the customer service sucks and a lot of problems like loose wires arise.

With those conditions, I guess an Afterburner is your only choice. Or you can try for a CF on ebay or something.
