i recently purchased a my TX-2000 pad and its been working fine untill today when i pluged it in to play all the lights on turned on and it would rapidly scroll through the game menu. i tried unpluging it and plugging it back in but nothing seems to work.

is there anyway to fix my pad?

ah, ghosting. One of my favorite things, watching the menu zoom along at the speed of light.

I had that happen on a dense foam pad, turned out the bottom layer of vinyl had cracked and the sensors were exposed.

Sounds like there's a wire loose or twisted or ... something. Plugging and unplugging, if that is the problem, won't help.

How long ago did you get the pad? Can you contact the seller and see if you can get a replacement? If you can't, like if it was one of those wonderful 7 day return policies and you're past that, then you're going to have to try to repair it. As I recall there was a TX "tweak" board - old but it's still there.

The only thing I can suggest off the top of my pointed head is to unscrew the 4 screws that hold the arrows on and lift the arrows out, just have a look and see if you can see any loose wires, etc.

I haven't done this, I don't have a metal pad and this is part of the reason why - I stink at DIY and I'm fairly clueless.

I did find this: http://www.ddrnl.com/artikelen/How%20to%20repair%20TX1000.pdf

I bookmark EVERYTHING. That is not a great page, but I don't seem to have any others on TX repair.

However, I'm sure at least one of our experts on wiring, etc. will be along to try to help you out.

first thing to see if thats the problem or not is to take off the arrow panels of each arrow and plug it in. if the arrows still go off, its a wiring problem.

if thats not it, it sounds like the foam to make the sensors work is getting thin.
all you really need is some weatherstripping to raise the arrows up a bit. i think its the low-density foam, but im not too sure.
