EDIT: Never mind I figured out the problem. All I needed to do was bend the cord towards the black plastic part at the top. Simple scotch tape did the trick. Actually I had to do the same thing with my GF controller.
It's basically one of these.
When I plug it in, the LED's still light up at the top but it's unresponsive. Is there any way to fix this? Or is it just dead?

I have one that looks exactly like it, but it has no LEDs
Did it come in this Box?
And it looks like this, right?
Mine was fairly unresponsive, so I bought plywood, cut and sanded it up, and inserted it into the pad, removing the foam.
It registers all my steps, but it registers my steps milliseconds late (I checked the games with a controller and I have confirmed the "lag")
In any case, what you may be experiencing is one of two things:
You may have old foam inserts (as they split in the middle, it affects the up and down arrow the most)
You may be experiencing the same thing I am. If anyone else has details as to the solution for this, please let us know.
(searching and checking reviews for metal pads atm) |

If you're using an HDTV, you will experience lag. Your average non-HD TV uses a resolution of 480i/480p, and that's the resolution typical PS2 games run at. However, if you're using an HDTV with a resolution of 720p and above, the audio doesn't adjust correctly to the new resolution hence it causes lag. If you're using a standard TV and you're experiencing lag with the pad, the pad probably just isn't any good. |

Yeah, I've confirmed that that's not the case and that these pads have been fubared (most likely by some kids that may have played onthem while they were being lent.....)
You can still play on them, but greats is as far as you will get.
(passable, but I want a perfect/marvelous/Fantastic when I step with the rhythm...)
I'll work on building a new pad when I'm in the Navy |

Yeah it kinda looks like that one. What happens is that I plug it in, the buttons register in the sense that the LEDs light up at the top, but there's no response. I can't get past the main screen when I push start. The pad was decent when I did use it (about 2-3 years ago heh) and I just figured I could maybe try playing again. |
