TX-4000 - Shoes or no shoes?

I recently bought myself a TX-4000, I've been playing in socks. Just wondering, does anyone else who has this pad (or a TX-6000 for that matter, since it's the same pad but with a bar) play with shoes on? I'm still not certain how well it will handle shoes slamming onto the buttons, I'm not quite game enough to test it out yet either.. hehe.

It can handle shoes, but they'll crack the panels after a while (10-20 months). They can still be used when they're cracked though; they're not trash until they split.

I highly doubt shoes will crack steel panels.

They aren't steel; they're 3/8" plywood with a 24ga. steel cover.
