Quote:
Following the announcement of its financial results early today, Activision has revealed that many of its top franchises, including Guitar Hero and Transformers, are heading to Nintendo Wii and DS.
Spong reports that the publisher has vowed to significantly increase its support for both Wii and DS throughout its next financial year, with Activision president Mike Griffith confirming the following in a conference call:

“In fiscal 2008 we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero. The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo’s expected growth.”

Whilst the arrival of Spider-Man, Transformers and Shrek is good news for Nintendo owners, it’s the mention of Guitar Hero that sparks the imagination.

Whether the Wii version would use Nintendo’s remote or a guitar controller like the existing PS2 iteration is yet to be seen, whilst the possibilities for the DS version are obvious.

Well since that is what it says on the news headline, might as well leave it there. I have to agree though, Guitar Hero DS makes no sense.

I hear the DS version is going to have an attachment and the screen is going to be used to strum with the stylus.

I seriously hope that you don't REALLY believe that...

No, I don't seriously believe it... and I wouldn't unless it was posted as confirmed from somewhere. My gf was talking about the DS version with someone and heard of an attachment idea. So far it's the only way that makes sense to me to get that Guitar Hero feel.

**sigh** why do people think every music game on a nintendo system is full of nintendo songs?

I agree with you to a degree, as there were Nintendo music games that had song lists with no Nintendo music in them, like the DDR GBC games and Disney DDR Dancing Museum on N64. And here in the present, we have Elite Beat Agents and the upcoming DDR Hottest Party. However, keep in mind Donkey Konga and DDR Mario Mix on Gamecube. Both of those had plenty of Nintendo music in them. It's not exactly a trend, only being 2 games, but there is a precedent for it. That being said, Activision makes games for the mainstream market, so I'm guessing the song list will be similar to that of GH 1 and 2, but I could be wrong.
