shortening music files?

how exactly would I go about editing a music file to make it like 1:30 for SM?

Take a selection of song that sounds similar to another, like the chorus, and make a selection from the beginning of the first chorus to the beginning of the second chorus. Use Edit -> Marker -> Set to get it perfect.
