After playing DDR SuperNova at Rye Playland (I will post about it in the "Arcade Experiences" thread later ) I realized that as faithful and reliable as my MMB solomode 2200 pad, despite certain things breaking (all my fault, of course), could be better. Suddenly, now I want to mod my pad to be more arcade-like.
First thing I want to do will be the only relatively easy part, replacing the acryllic plastic arrows with plexiglass ones, but then I plan on adding the recessed feeling to the arrows, and *possibly* (comehow) attempting to do lighting.
First off, the plexiglass arrows will for the most part be the easiest part, but how much would you say it costs to get 4 custom cut in the shape I need? And after that is finished, how would I get arow decals on?
Second, what method would you reccomend for ading the recessive feeling (almost springy at the machine I last played ) from the arcade pads?
Third, would it at all be possible to add lights that light up when you step on the arrows a la arcade? I would think that it depends on whether or not you have space (for lights and the circutry), and if that space used would mean working around sensor wiring.
To finish this pad, I plan on re-enforcing my the metal bar and making it red, topping it off by adding one of those leather-y grips like on the new SuperNova machines. Where can I get such things though?
Ambitious this project is, and I plan on sticking with it as long as I can hopefully completing it.
Any and all help is appreciated.
And yes, I will take photos of my progress once I start.
