Well I only play 2nd mix in the arcades, and I do a lot. Ive been a paralist for a few years now actually. I have copies of PPP1 and PPP7 (the rest of them, well, didnt work right E13.gif ). So yeah, take advantage of P-Movie mode in the game as well in the background of songs. Its much like the characters in 2nd mix, and its the same videos found in the arcade dvd cabinet.

In freestyle mode, some songs are killer. I am going to say that with out a doubt in my mind, some songs on freestyle are harder than in the groove. Easy Busy (2nd mix) and Velfarre 2000 are mayjor killers.

Once the game sets in, just look up parapara in youtube. Also check out TechPara, that stuff is hot. There are routines that could never be done in the game (ParaPara Allstars, stickytricky&bang, Dont wanna lose you baby, etc)

EDIT: I Figured that I should mention that earlier when I mentioned PPP1 and PPP7, its not the game, its the movie series. The game really only did songs from ParaParaStadium, ParaParaParadise 1 2 and I *think* 3, not to mention ParaParaParadise presents J-Euro or whatever (Ashitemasu and deluxe)

This game has always intrigued me, but I've never played it and don't really understand exactly what goes on. I know there are like, dances you're supposed to do that involve waving your hands...but that's about all I know.

Well its a little more than just that. The game plays exactly like DDR, infact this game is the source of freeze arrows (that is if Pump it Up didnt have them first, im not quite sure). The arrows, first mix series were done by AVEX and 2nd mix done by Konami, and there are different pattersn between the games, are set to the routine. A couple of examples:

SexySexySexy - Ken Martin This is a reversed version that was on the 2nd mix arcade DVD. As far as I know this style video done in velfarre with the same format was only related to the game.

Bandolero Comanchero- Franz tornado and bazooka girl This is an example of how the routine matches up with the arrows. This was taken from PPP 1st mix home version.

Cabalerro with Sombrero- Franz Tornado and BazookaGirl. This is an example of ParaParaParadise outside of the videogame. This clip is from PPP6.

Performance of PPP7 special performance This is an example of this actually being done in real life. Hahah.

I'm pretty sure it was just Stadium, 1 and 2. I used to para quite a bit, although now I haven't in at least a year or so.

Your right, none of the songs from 3 were in the game. I just checked eurobeatprime. They wernt really in order with eachother, like Number 1, Jam Jam Jam and DeltaDance.com not coming in till 2nd mix, Bandolero comanchero and Velfarre 2000 in 1st +.

So let me see if I've got this right....

Para Para Paradise is a game where it's like DDR arrows & you gotta wave your hand over the sensor when the arrows match, san DDR. & This was taken from kind of dancing that originatted in Japan?

Why do I feel like the hand thing is something from "Ouendan!"?

ParaParaParadise *plays* like hand DDR, but the patterns go along with ParaPara routines. The game is only intended to play as "DDR" mode in Freestyle mode, and freestyle hard can be pretty brutal (Try velfarre2000 even with high speed on). Like for instance you can just place your hand over the sensor and be bored, or you can do the actual routines. However once you realize that the game is somewhat constricting, you would either:
1. be like me and play the game like its crack.
2. only play freestyle mode and parapara outside of the game.
3. Screw the game and collect the video series, and Gazen ParaPara, and We Love TechPara, etc.
4. All of the above.

More or less the game was just a marketing ploy for the video series and to add to the fad the last time it was popular, however it has been in another stream of popularity, a "para para boom."

So it's another Benami game that we'll never see in the US.

So, basicly, you dance, but your hands must be over the sensors to score? So I can dance, say, "Ouendan" style? Honestly, when I thought of this, I thought of the people from Ouendan dancing.

Also, what's the hardest song?

Yes its another bemani game we will never see, as there is no real reason for PPP to be in the USA.

You dance to the routines. The arrows are placed in the front of you, front left, front right and left and right. Those are the most basic places. When you move it catches your hand sensor, as it is at about the right distance. Just check the videos I posted, each song has different routines.

Hardest song? Well on freestyle mode im debating between either Ultra High Heels, Velfarre 2000 and Easy Busy. ParaPara mode? Eh all of the routines are easy enough to learn, its more of a how well you can learn it. Some people say that velfarre 2000 is a bit complicated, but it really isnt compaired to other ParaPara routines outside of the game, winnie the pooh comes to mind when I think hard. TechPara is just a whole new field of difficulty though, like I have issues learning the song "Hyper Techno Waros."

I tried learning some routines outside of the game (aka, without arrows) and I found it much harder to do so. Personally, I think there's harder stuff in-game than Velfarre 2000 for Para Para, but it definitely wins the Freestyle "Make your arms want to scream" section.

I've got the home version before and I even managed to get that SM version mentioned some time back in the old PPP thread.

Velfarre 2000 [EXPERT] is the hardest song that I've ever played.

Can anyone give me an idea of how well the home version controller registers? I'm thinking about ordering it off of eBay, but I wouldnt want to if the controller doesnt register well enough.

The controller I received (and thus, I imagine all) register very well, up to a height of almost six feet at least. There are these little wheels on the sides of the sensors that you may need to turn every now and then to adjust the sensor direction and such, but all in all they work very well.

Just don't step on them.

i got mine from ebay, and they work fine from 5-6 inches above it to around 6 feet up, and they've been pretty responsive.

I play. The sensors I have (Konami ones, are there 3rd party??) work great. This is the one Bemani game where standard home equipment plays just like the arcade. Fun stuff. I should play more often again.

i'd give the 'hardest song' award to easy busy -- ultra high heels gave me trouble until i put it on hi speed, which made it almost ridiculously easy. velfarre 2000 is tough, but not like easy busy...that makes me E12.gif laugh.gif

For me though its easier to pass Easy Busy than it is to pass Velfarre 2000 on freestyle hard.
