Should ITG3 AC have a 14?
Yes, we need to continue to increase the difficulty to keep up with player skill.

No, the songs are already hard enough - we should have some 13's harder then V2.

No, the songs are too hard; we should make ITG3 AC easier.

Simple enough question, should ITG3 AC have an Expert 14 in it? Answer for whatever your relevant mode is (if you play doubles primarily, answer for doubles; if you play singles primarily answer for singles; if you play marathon primarily you already have one).

We need it, as scary as it may be, it needs to be there, so people still have a reason to continue reaching for something to beat.

Heck, I even say two new 14s! E7.gif Oh man, Vertex ^3?! laugh.gif Pandygizer!?

The only thing I wouldn't want about harder difficulties would be charts becoming hard just for the sake of being hard, like Emirzian runs on a 250 BPM song with 1/16 notes, for example. That said, I can't actually play above the 11 difficulty, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I think they should go up to 14 or higher, I can't do them but I sure as hell love watching people doing them.

I think they should have at least one 14 block to keep up with player skill.

Adding two 13's kept up with player's skill for ITG 2 (somewhat)
just add like 3-4 more 13's that are harder (i.e. makes VerTex^2 look like Delirium in terms of 12s).

In ITG 1 I believe there were 5 12's and 1 13, so they should at least make a couple more harder 13's in ITG3 before making a 14.

(Note: I'm in the 9-10 foot range, so take anything I say with a huge bleeping shaker of salt)

From the brief bits of charts like Pandemonium I've seen, I don't know how much more "keeping up with player skill" there's going to be before we start crossing over into the realm of the impossible, or more likely, the "hard for the sake of being hard" at which point a fun, coherent stepchart is abandoned in favor of "put as many arrows in as short a space as possible" for the sake of trying to come up with something that can't be passed. I've heard a story about how one of ITG 2's songs was actually supposed to be a 14 but was toned down after no one could pass it in testing; is this actually true or what?

First off, Pandemonium is being passed by more and more people each day. For example, look at Groovestats. At least 200 people have passed it at the arcade already. Therefore, we need a song with a little bit harder difficulty. If Roxor were to make a fourteen block, it wouldn't be "impossible". For instance, consider stepmania. There are plenty of stepfiles out there that are harder than Pandemonium; and yet, people can pass these stepfiles on foot (probably even some keyboard megapack songs). So basically, we need a harder difficulty level so that some people can actually have a challenge to work towards.

I see no reason for a 14 footer when there are only three 13 footers. I say more 12 and 13 footers and I'll be happy.

The 13 footers won't make any difference to me, since I'm not that good, i can do 11 footers and I'm pretty close to passing Delerium and Vertex.

We need things harder than 14

14s for people like Starman would be too easy

We need to test peoples skill/stamina

I think that we should definitely have a 14. It'd allow players to keep getting stronger and better at the game so that the game can keep up with the players.

In addition, however, I believe that there should be more songs that are 13s as well.

I definitely don't want songs created just to be hard though. Something like Summer would be great. The hard steps are a fun 9 and the expert has the 13 that people like. It's also a good song as well.

I am 100% for the introduction of 14s......HOWEVER.....I don't want them on ITG3 because we only have 3 13's right now. We should flesh out the 13 range with 2 or 3 more 13s and THEN add a 14 on ITG4.

Actually, because I like 5-based numbers so much, I want ITG eventually to make one and only one 15 several mixes down the road just to say to its fans "I bet you can't". By then we'll have like 15 13's and around 4 or 15 14s. As long as we keep getting harder, at least some of us will get better enough to keep up. Well, to a certain extent, no one can do 1/24th runs at 175BPM for 8 measures and no one will

I think we should add more hard 13s in ITG3 and hold the 14s off until ITG4.

Yes, but ONLY one. Two or more would be ridiculous, when ITG3 comes out we should have:

4 or 5 13's (Pandy, Summer, ^2, 2 others)
1 14 (Something insane.)

Having 3 or 4 14's would be nauseating and not really fun to play.

I say yes on 14 footers, or higher for this reason ^

It would be pretty sweet to watch people play them. More of a reason to go to the arcade, besides die in my own sweat E15.gif

I can't vote for some reason...

Either way, I'd like a 14 block song, but that brings another question to mind. Why would it be a 14? The 13's we have now are 13's because of stamina (pandemonium), speed (summer), and vertex 2 (technicality). So if we got a 14, what would make it a 14 specifically? Would it be insane stamina wise (160 bpm 16ths, but 1000+ steps), fast runs (200 bpm but with some long runs), or really technically difficult (...lol not sure for this one...look at vertex 2 and let your imagination run wild)?

Oh btw I can past most 12's and summer, but that's about it.

Although I personally can only play up to 11's, I think there should be a 14 block song. There are players out there who like push the envelope. This in turn causes the other players to proportionately increase their skills, in an effort to strive to play the harder songs. This, I believe, is a positive thing for the community.

most definitely, i mean look at how quickly summer got 99ed after the release of itg2. I would picture the new 14/s to have a 200 bpm stream, something resembling summer and 16th jumps resmembling remember december on stomp ^ ^
