Stepmania on linux - problem with video

The videos and animations won't work for some reason in stepmania. The videos work when I wach them witout running stepmania (in the song folder), but my stepmania won't show them. I think that I have all the needed codecks, since I can play the video files when I dont run stepmania.

I have also another problem. My tx4000 gets disconnected from the computer after about 10 min of dancing. Re plugging wont work. How do I prevent this from happenin? I am pretty sure that the problem is on kenel, not in the pad.

Did you change any options in Stepmania to have it not play videos/animations? Also, do you get any error messages regarding video when you start Stepmania (from a terminal)? It could be that Stepmania uses something to play videos besides what codecs you have.

And what do you mean your pad gets disconnected?

I check the terminal when I next time run the stepmania. Propably the stepmania uses something to play the videos like you sed.
