Well, stream is a problem. Sometimes. Mainly in songs like Delirium. Are there any techniques for actually being able to pass those insanely long stream runs?.. without the bar, my legs give in and I think with the bar it wouldn't be much different.
anyone else struggling with stream? :/ |

Sometimes after like 3 hours of playing I usually don't attempt those kind of streams. but it depends, I find that the bar helps with those long runs. If you put your weight on the bar. Also what would help is like in Delirum, I don't know if this is possible to double step (On my first attempt I tried that ) But don't, because it takes more energy. _________________

I'm not good at those myself (but getting better slowly and surely)... so all I can give are the typical answers:
1) Keep practicing (maybe try songs with similar runs that are not as long as Delirium's ... like Utopia... or maybe like Walking on Fire to build stamina or something)
2) Use speed mods appropriately so reading is not the thing that is screwing you up. _________________

I agree with the poster above, practice and technique are the key. _________________

If you can, practice with similar, but slower, songs. For example, play Fleadh Uncut or Energizer on ITG2. Those both have fairly long streams but at a significantly slower speed. If you don't have access to ITG2, try PARANOiA Survivor on DDR, or The Beginning on ITG1, though those have turning, which mixes things up quite a bit.
And above all, just keep at it. For Delirium, I didn't manage to pass the song until I got past one main problem: It's hard to move your feet that fast for that long. If you can't move your foot all the way to the next arrow, ignore it and step anyway. Whether you're hitting the correct arrows or not, just keep stepping. That will keep you onbeat, which will help you a lot more than the missed arrows will hurt.
So just keep practicing, any way you can. _________________

- check out the stepcharts and/or play it a lot in stepmania. find areas where you can light-step (like jackhammers or whatever you call LDLDLD) and get familiar with the steps.
- for stamina issue, dont waste your energy in the beginning of the song. if youre tired during the runs, exhale deeply through your mouth.
- before you start, stretch out and make sure you dont play any other songs thatll tire you out, but make sure you're warmed up.
- push yourself. though you may say to yourself during the runs, "i cant go any further" and step off, dont. eventually, it will pay off.
- for some reason it helps me: while your bar raping, at the last stream, squeeze the bar as hard as you can.
- if you use the tip of your toes, squat down a bit. it'll give you more accuracy and lighten up the weight on your legs
- if you play on itg 2, pay attention to the timing and pay attention to the dashes.
- add steps. play "the game" expert or even "bubble dancer" and highlight every option for "insert tap." i think theres around 500-700 steps for that song and surprisingly, delirium has only about 600. though you will be disqualified for ranking, it will improve your stamina.
hope this helps because im not good at giving advices. im just trying to tell you what i do/did and i FCed this song. |

Anything changing the chart more than just how it's viewed disqualifies you.
...
Except for Simple. As if that really has any effect though . _________________

Do what my friend did:
1) Get a stepstool
2) Get about 100-200lbs of weights
3) Get some of this awesome nonslip floor stuff (Only if you have a hardwood floor)
Combine them together, and BAM you got yourself and instant bar _________________

i find that if i print the stepchart and then play the song on a pad at my own pace without the music or game it realy makes me better at those songs. _________________

To elaborate on what I tried to say, but probably failed at communicating, earlier: if you want to hit stream at home, practice it with the bar (and probably easier stuff) in the arcade. The skill from Arcade to Home translates, but not, it seems, visa versa. And all the tournament action is at the arcade anyway . _________________

Insert taps adds steps in to the song. _________________

It's a modifier. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Haha, yeah; I forgot to mention that too. Also, added taps using that mod show up sort of white, so you know which were added. _________________
