This has been an arguement before, and if I remember correctly it was determined that there is still PLENTY of space for songs/videos. A lot of things that were being previously done in older Styles (6th's Tatsujin mode for example), separate doubles videos, and two different aspect ratios for current videos was eating up DVD space, but all that's been fixed. The new GUI (from 8th to 9th) couldn't have made that dramatic of an impact space wise on the discs as well, so 10th should port over just fine, along with all the 10th AC songs.

Are you sure about this? I was under the impression that some videoes were cut from 8th Style and 9th Style because of space issues (i.e. Bad Routine, IIDX), and even in the existing videoes, there's some pretty visible loss of quality from the compression.

Sorry, I haven't been on top of the latest discussion about all this stuff =P

Disk Space (By Style):
3rd, 4th, and 5th are approx 2.5 gigs.
6th: 4.3 gigs (yay Tatsujin videos)
7th: 2.48 gigs
8th: 3.65 gigs
9th: 3.78 gigs

There is plenty of room on the disks (sans 6th Style) to not need to compress some vids. 10th should port over fine. There will also be some good room for some returns.

If there is so much extra space on these disks, why dont they make use of them with more returning songs?

Seriously, i was disappointed with the amount of returns that 9th had, and now knowing it has nearly a FULL EXTRA GIG OF SPACE I am quite pissed.

If you think about it, there are probably more people starting to play IIDX nowdays than back in the 3rd style days, so more people may want older songs. Since the older songs are becoming extremely hard to aquire, Konami would be doing us a favor by giving us these old songs. Although it could be argued that old songs suck and are not worth playing, we have new songs for a reason, think about the gig of space, man, think about the gig of space.

On a different note, gogo 10th style. I am awating your release.

Hello? There is something called "dual-layered disks". If they have to, it will probably come out as DVD9 instead of DVD5 as like all the other beatmania releases.

HELLO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT FILLING UP A DVD5 IS WHAT IM COMPLAINING ABOUT, NOT THAT THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF SPACE. BECAUSE THEY ARENT.

And the fact that the side says New Songs Collection, where as the cover does not. Pretty nice looking cover though.
