Should ITG3 AC have a 14?
Yes, we need to continue to increase the difficulty to keep up with player skill.

If people can pass it, then YES there should be a 14. If people keep passing songs, then keep increasing the difficulty.

The only reason to cap off the difficulty is if the songs become physically impossible for almost any human to complete. I'm guessing this would become a real issue around the 16 block level.

Isn't the max in SM a 15? As in, the rating you can put as the song's difficulty.

thats only the max number of feet that will show up, i think you can make it as high as you want, the lol megapack has a 52 footer

A 52 footer? I really don't want to pretend that 32nd note crazy crossover runs with step jumps at 500BPM is creative, cool, or necessary.

...Now you could make a 385BPM song with interesting 8th note streams as long as you made it well instead of made it like FaxX (burn). Heck, if they did do a 385BPM song like that, it would be faster than Summer and probably have a higher combo than Pandemonium. There's a 14 right there.


(And Vertex^2's world record would STILL be lower lol)

I didnt know what to put until now, after seeing that Summer Expert Video.

We dont need any more 14s. After seeing those mini and long streams, I dont see how you could make it harder to a point where people could still pass it.

But why make such big decisions of the development of the game revolving around only a couple people in the world? These guys are the exception, not the rule. And like I said before, what's wrong with more 13's harder than V2? there's only 3 13's right now. and V2 is still only at 94, with the few best in the world averaging in the 80's.

I've always been of the opinion that the stepchart makers for ITG need to learn how to craft better steps for the lower-level songs before we should let them assault us with another one of their death run orgies.

I haven't tried any of the songs on expert as of yet. I'm in the process of passing every song on the machine on hard mode first. Even though I'm sure I could pass some of the nine's on expert. There are only two players in the entire province that can pass the 13 footers.

Its just as more players pass these 13 footers, they are going to keep asking for more and difficult songs to act as test toward their own physical limitations.

In all honestly, I don't think the limitations have been reached in terms of trying different step charts for the 13 footer realm. I'm sure with enough time hard and harder step charts can exist for the 13 footer realm. I just don't see no rush to go into 14 footers as of yet.

I think when ITG3 eventually gets released we'll see maybe 2-3 brand new 13 footers, but its eventually going to come to the point that they're going to increase the difficulty of the song until someone literally faints or passes out from physical exhaustion. Once that point has hit for the majoirty of the players trying a song, thats when they will stop increasing the difficulty.

All in all, keep creating more 13 footers, and try different ways of making songs more difficult while keeping at the 13 footer boundary, if more and more players start passing these songs, then increase the level of difficulty up to a 14 footer.

IIRC, MJ said that Nightmare Intense Double was gonna be rerated to be a 14. That said, I think it makes sense to assume there will be songs with a 14 rating as well. On single at least...on Double they should hold off a while longer....seriously, I don't even know if someone has passed Vertex^2 double yet.
