I'm wondering if they come out with a new type of BM controlller here.

It would be nice to get a BM IIDX ASC for < 200.

Although it wouldn't be IIDX ASC controller, probably some form of BM Delux controller.

I was wondering when Konami would get the hint and finally bring this to North America. I'm very pleased. E4.gif

The game itself is just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. I'm more excited at the prospect of an official Konami IIDX controller that's going to be affordable AND sold in local game stores. Thank the good Lord that controllers don't have regional lockout, because $90 imports can suck it.

You haven't played 3rd and 4th styles have you? e-motion, overdoser, North, The Earth Light, and a good few other songs aren't too far off their original 5key incarnations.

Uhm... yeah, I own 3rd style... *points*

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought back the covers from 3rd and 4th style (Take On Me, Conga, and Fantasy), though I will say that Take On Me and Fantasy have a reduced chance because they are so freaking hard on L7, mainly because of a lack of a good Hi-Speed on 3rd and 4th. I would be happy if they licensed Night Of Fire. I'd be a sad dragon if the songs that have appeared in both games (For instance Twinbee ~Generation X~, North, PARANOiA MAX (Dirty Mix), Overblast!, Genom Screams, and The Earth Light) is on either 5key or 7key but not the other. I am not saying that any of the songs above are on BMUSA.

I actually think that Mainstream Rap/Hip Hop and American Techno wouldn't be good for BM, mainly because they are so repetetive it's not even funny. And when I say repetetive, I mean the melody of the song. Listening to some of Sum 41's songs makes me think that some of their songs could easily be Flashing 7's (like No Reason, We're All To Blame (especially with all the speed changes), The Bitter End, Open Your Eyes, and Welcome To Hell from Chuck). And please Konami, give Anothers their own rankings (like on 6th Mix + Core and HAPPY SKY).

I do hope that one of these days RO happens to drop the Rave Discman controllers like a bad habit and come out with their own controllers.

MDR
Yes, I meant to say "I would be a sad dragon".

But since BM US is using the 9th Style interface, that won't be a problem.

First off, *points at avatar*, spooky would be great in this game.
I will pick up a seccond controller if Konami makes them cheap. I would not be worried about the game sucking. DDR first mix is, imo, the closest thing to a japanese DDR game (Konamix is too). The main fear I have with Beatmania is Another 7 being slashed, or light 7 (OMG my level of play) to be concidered 7 keys.

Me too ^^

First off, $90 import for a good controller is better than $15 domestic for a crap controller (Rave Discman sucks from what I've heard). Sure, there won't be regional lockouts, but I worry that they may remap the wiring, so the turntable may end up being triangle and X, or something... Dunno though, CStar played it, and I think he told us what he knows about the controllers they had there.

*joins the group hoping for US ASCs*

Yeah, CStar DID play it at E3, they used the same Konami original controllers from Japan, since the US ones are still in production, more than likely.

You might be right there, CStar, but then again the endings for Conga and Fantasy are less comfortable than No. 13 and Distress (in terms of finger placement for 2 handing). This is of course based off of the L7 charts.

I also wouldn't be too surprised if some of the songs we had appear on both IIDX and on DDR appear on here (like Gradiusic Cyber, Gentle Stress, Luv To Me Disco, Xenon, and Burning Heat!), though a ROFL is in order if we get the AMD versions of GC, GS, Luv to Me, and Don't Stop. I do know that some of them are a bit on the hard side on both L7 and 7key, except for maybe Burning Heat. I would be uber happy if we get some old school songs from Pop N like Goonies R Good Enough or Dracula Medley, even if they happen to get the Linus treatment (In other words they transplant charts, like Hyper in PopN is very similar to L7 in IIDX).

Oh, and I second the ASCs, though most likely they'll be called Beatmania DX controllers.

MDR
Yes, I am very aware that Dracula Medley debuted in KeyboardMania, but I've only played it in Pop N.

Seeing as how 1998 will be in Ex2, I suspect that we'll get Be Rock U to be in BMUSA. Getting "DDR" crossovers will be the main selling point in the marketing of this game. B4U is a given as well as Absolute... but who knows.
I just want it. biggrin.gif

I think it would make more sence to put BeRockU in DDR and 1998 in IIDX.
(Hey, i allready have both in their home versions...).
Im expecting to actually see a lot of 9th style songs, Paranoia survivor MAX, Love Love Shine, maybe Linus (even know thats not 9th style).
I wouldn't be surprised if we had Last Message with a different video.

Wow, I've been in the woods too long. Shame I don't have a Pop'n machine near me, much less the use of ee'mall frown.gif

I want Sync (non-Extreme version), Twinbee... and possibly Fire. (I'm kinda partial to Fire, since it was the song that I lost my Beatmania-virginity to.)

Oh comeon now, Mad Catz is sure to make an crappier/more craptastic controller than even the RD. I bet the buttons are shaped like decahedrons (and spaced really far apart) and the turntable is a triangle
