DDR at school happy funtime story thing!

OK, so yesterday we had PE class like we do every Friday. Our PE teacher doesn't give a fig newton what we do during class, so usually we sit around and do nothing, or play a half-arsed game of basketball. So, I figured that noone would mind if I spent my time playing DDR. I brought in my laptop, crappy pads and Stepmania and started to play. People were really impressed when I did Daikenkai on standard as a warmup, and most of the kids were like "WOW MATT YOU'RE GOD" even though there were a few who were like "dude you're gay". Anyhoo, while I was playing DDR, the principal came in the room and saw me doing Midnight Blaze on heavy, and was impressed with the fact that DDR offered a pretty good workout, and was fun too. So now, not only did I get to play DDR during PE, not only did I impress my classmates, and not only did I see my math teacher try to play (he has a really long beard and is like 60), but the principal decided to bring the class on a field trip to the beach so we could play DDR in the arcade nearby. Hooray!

dude, if your school was mine, you woulda gotten detention or I.S.S(in school suspension) just because my principal is technologically ignorant and won't let us bring anything electronic besides a calculator.

but i am tryin to get the high school to get a machine, tuition is 10k so half a kids tuition for an extreme machine aint bad lol.

Anyway, nice on making DDR legitamate exercise in the eyes of a high school principal. But, you have a laptop? One powerful enough to run Stepmaina? I'm jealous...

Congrats on bringing DDR to your school. I am considering borrowing some money, purchasing a machine, and putting it in my school, whilst cutting some money deal with the prinicipal/administrator/superintendant, whoever I would have to talk to. My main concern is stupid kids damaging the machine. I have brought DDR to school in the past, though. I brought in my old PS1, a copy of konamix and 2 pads. It was for the last day of school, and there were no real classes, so I just set it up in a willing teachers room, hooked the TV up to a projector, so the arrows are on the overhead. It felt great that there was actually fun on that screen for once, not mindless words that you gotta copy down. Anyway, groups of people would stop in and play for a while. Near the end of the day, to a crowd of my entire homeroom, I beat Afronova Primeval (Maniac) for the first time. The real accomplishment cam in that the over head got bumpedonce, so for about 15 seconds I was looking at the cieling to see the arrows. I still passed though. Anyway, congrats on brining DDR to school. Now if only I could convince MY PE teacher to let me bring it in.

That's kool, I would bring my laptop and pad to PE if they would let me but there are 3 problems, I got all my PE credits so I dont take it anymore, I have a metal pad so I dunno how I would be able to bring it unless I dissasembled it, and the most important reason my school is gay and would take my laptop, pad, and not give it to me till I graduate

your lucky $hite thats cool that gives mee an idea for next year fpr school i have like half a credit for PE now but next year i'll have a full one if they say DDR is close to workout but i doubt it....

I could probly pull off using it at school but the problem is there is a ton of dumbasses at my school that would probly destroy my pads by wearing shoes on em or f***ing around with them.

Not a lotta people at my school appreciate the greatness of ddr.
