As i read on another forum.....
now i also still do have the image files that came with the download aswell as the initial .sm files... would this cause the machine to not read my edits? should i try and clean up the folders to contain ONLY the .Ogg and .edit files?....
sorry totally new to ITG and this whole USB thing...
and yes i searched and read and looked else where and went back and forth a few times to the arcade today ... bah |

They don't go in the edit folder. It should be in the songs folder.
and you need .ogg and .sm files
Songs/DotA/DotA.sm and DotA.ogg _________________

.edit files only work if that song that your edit is for is on the machine, i.e. ITG1 and ITG2 songs. All other songs need to be placed in the songs folder.
For example, you should have these two files if you wanted to play Dota:
In The Groove 2/Songs/Dota/Dota.ogg
In The Groove 2/Songs/Dota/Dota.sm
In The Groove 2 is also a folder that is in the root of your USB.
If you want to make this whole conversion process easy on yourself, I recommend getting this program:
http://rgcanada.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=7185&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
It has lots of nice features, but bottom line is that it will prepare the songs to be played on your machine. Remember, you can only play these custom songs if your machine is r21 and custom songs are enabled. |

ok well i dont know what the machine is... its just like every other ITG2 machine i have encounterd... and i dont know how to tell if custom songs are on or where to go to look or turn it on....
all i know is it made files tracks my records and such like it should.
i dropped all my folders down to just the .sm and the .ogg now...
so aside from that? how do i make sure or turn on custom songs? |

The machine must be r21 to have custom songs on in the first place. You can check the revision and if custom songs are on by looking at the title screen (The one that shows In The Groove 2). At the bottom it will say the revision and I believe it says custom songs enabled if that is so. If they are not enabled, you will need to access the operators menu, for which you will need to open the coin door. For this, of course, you need to talk to the tech guy. Good luck. |

ah ok, shouldnt be to much, i had to have the tech guy turn the machine up.... they dont know how to set it up at all at my arcade it was at such a low volume you couldnt hear the music in general when playing then besides that they have airhockey tables behind it.... bah
hopefully the tech guy is in today... he didnt even know how to up the volume though i had to show him...?
so im prolly going to need to do the same for the custom songs thing...
eesh this sucks lol. |

ok so its confirmed..... the machine is R21...
and the USB ports are well... they work now and then...
but yeah custom songs are disabled and the tech guy is in... oh once and a blue moon.... its an arcade in a theatre...
so i got lucky the first time i got him..
USB keyboard and Linux Crack anyone? =(
wouldnt it work to access the operators menu?
or should i just cover the machine in Post-Its telling them how to set it up ![E15.gif](images/smilies/E15.gif) |

If you realllllly didn't care to wait, you could hack the machine so that you can access the operators menu, but there is a bit of work to do to get that to work, and you could mess up the machine if you do it wrong. |
