I picked up a couple BNS DX Extreme pads at a garage sale ($20 for both pads). Only problem is that they were PS2 pads, and all my DDR games are on regular Xbox. Well I remember seeing some converters on Ebay for pretty cheap, so I figure it will be a good deal in the end. So I get the converters today, and it's not working. The pad lights up, which means that it got power, but none of the buttons work. Now I know that the converters work, because I have a PS1 controller that I tried and I was able to control the Xbox with that. But for some reasons these pads aren't working. Additionally, I know that the pads do work because I made the guy demonstrate them on his PS2 before I bought them. Do some pads just not work with these converters or what? I'm an electrical engineer so I'm not afraid of any re-wiring that I might have to do, providing that I have a schematic.
Thanks!

on one type of ps2->xbox adapters i have there is a switch for something like "steering wheel" mode. just check that first. i didnt see it for a while at first, so just check that.
if thats not the problem, i can't really help you there.

Sorry I forgot to add a link to the adapter. Here it is:

It's pretty cheapo as you can see. That being said, the PS controller does work, so I am confused as to why the pad wouldn't work. Aren't the "buttons" on the pad just a one to one mapping of the buttons on a controller? |
