Chances of getting a helpful answer are rather small, I know, but I'll ask anyway.

I'm an American living in Japan, and am considering getting a metal pad for SM/ITG. I am trying to avoid building one myself (too much time/effort, don't have the right tools), but I don't want to buy from the States because shipping is absolutely outrageous.

Anyone have any idea what might be popular here? Or are there any options which might be a little cheaper on shipping than sending from the US? (My Japanese is kind of weak, but so far the local game stores haven't been able to point me anywhere, and I don't know where else to ask...)

Hi Vultaire

Wow. I just checked play-asia, you might want to look through their site. Did not see anything metal though.

Also, check channelbeat - http://www.channelbeat.com/products/parts/dance_dance_revolution_parts/237.html this is a metal pad I'm going to write and ask about (general info and s/h to US). They're located in Hong Kong, so shipping may be alot less.

It's unfortunate that Lik-San had to go out of business, I'm sure they could have found a way to help you out.

Hopefully someone here on the forum has some better advice!

Metal pads in Japan? With all these wonderful arcades I could never imagine playing at home here.

Also, with the close proximity and whiny neighbors it might be difficult.

Although, I guess there are some places which don't fit this description.

Honestly it's not so much for practicing DDR at home as it is for ITG. Somehow I don't think I'll be seeing an ITG2 cab in Japan anytime soon, and I have yet to pass Summer Speedy Mix >.< Not to mention many other 12- and 13-footers... Sure, it'd be nice to be able to practice Fascination MaxX at home, but the honest reason is for hooking up to ITG PC E10.gif

But yeah... Location to actually use one is a little problematic. My apartment right now may work though, since it's a gaijin house and I'm on the first floor. =)
