Apparently konami has a few patents covering techniques used by RockBand for note matching (who would have guessed?).

What does everyone think? Do they have a chance? I doubt it.

Honestly, I'd say both topics were miscategorised, since it's neither relevant to DDR nor irrelevant to music games, but my opinion on the subject is that Konami really should be suing, but not for the reasons they're suing. Konami's Jam Session mode for GF/DM/KBM has been around way longer than Rock Band and captures the same ideal exactly.

I also think that whomever came up with the idea for Rock Band should be suing Konami over naming rights, since Rock Revolution is a very obvious attempt at claiming an existing market by using another company's trademark.

Ultimately, music games + the law = failure. Konami thinks they own the genre, and most people think Konami owns nothing but DDR.
