does anyone know how to upload a .rar file to stepmania? Im used to .zip and dont understand how to upload a song that has .rar instead of .zip.

A .Rar is similar to a .Zip but requires a different tool to extract. The most commonly used is WinRar, but I recommend ZipGenius or Rarzilla! instead. RarZilla is very easy to use, and ZipGenius can be used for many file types (very good with ZIP, can also do weird ones like .tar and .gz).

Once you have those programs installed, you can right-click RAR files and use the new options to convert the RAR to a normal folder.

Also, "upload" means to make a file on your computer accessible on the Internet. What you're doing is installing song files.
