|

Heya,
I need to RANT because I am beyond angry... so if you dun wanna read my rant and get to my post then skip the "quoted" parts
Before my cousin's cursed family visited my house (as usual) I had 4 dance pads (the ones that come BUNDLED with the game). Now I know these pads aren't super but for my level they serve their purpose - they stick to ceramic floor, dun slide and my feet dun slide on top of them when I do standard/heavy mode 1.5x songs (yes I'm new and yes I currently suck)....
Quote: |
My pads normally dun break.... One of the pads I have been using for months - is taped, has knife marks and works like a beauty (never missed a step unless it was myself)... tested all the pads too before and even danced on the pads in front of my cousin's family (2 were brand new - just to confirm they worked)... then my cousin's family come over and they realize how awesome/fun the game is (since they abondaned it long time ago) and believe that is the reason why I lost weight (since they are all overweight)... next thing you know 4 days later NONE of the pads work all of a sudden (it's NOT my PS2 'cause I tested them on both of my PS2... two stopped responding/being read completely and not just by the game but also by the actual PS2... the other two's buttons sometimes read other times don't)
Coincidence... not sure anymore after 10 years of super coincidences including our new house getting flooded a few days after their visit, our cars getting hit somehow in the parking lot again after their visit, clothes, grades etc... been trying to deny and overlook these seriously insane super coincidences for many years now... and I don't know what to think of this since I don't want to become superstitions

Now to the point:
I am a heavy-ish (since I can A almost every standard song) player at 1.5x (yeah I know I suck)... been using the bundled pads on ceramic floor (we dun have carpet)....
I'm looking for the same pads or similar ones but I can't find the ones that come bundled with the actual game sold separately. Can someone direct me somewhere to buy them or has a suggestion for similar functioning ones?
I know many people will say go metal... but they cost lots, shipping costs are huge, not sure how well they function on ceramic floor, dun think I'm ready for them, they sound heavy and I probably can't lift them if I wanted to move them around (I'm female and I suck at weight lifting) and what if my cousin's family visited and they got busted (especially since most are expensive with the shipping costs and all)?
Also, I doubt I can create one since I lack the tools >.....<
Any suggestions are appreciated and I know I probably sound psycho from this post... but I'm angry and I don't know what to think right now - lol 4 pads getting busted all of a sudden (2 brand new but have been tested and performed on with a few songs) is not exactly something easy for me to comprehend |

I'd go with a foam pad if metal is out of the equation.
There's also the red octane ignition 3.0.
I think the blueshark foam pad at mymybox.com is a well reputed pad. I can't say it's good as a fact though as I've never used a foam pad. |

According to the websites, they both have anti-slip coating materials on the bottom. |

The anti-slip bottom on the foam pads should work very well on tile as long as the floor and pad are kept very clean. A little dust and dirt can send that pad sliding. It still may slide a little since it's pretty light, but for unusual steps such as fast jumps. |

The foam pads I'm talking about are the kind with the 1" dense foam inserts and zippers, as found with Level Six pads - they have rubbery gray material on the bottom.
It looks like you're looking at plastic pads and perhaps foam-base pads. The plastic-sheet pads that come bundled (I call them trashbag pads) will stick pretty well to clean, clingy surfaces since they're entirely plastic. I can't vouch for a foam-base pad (flat plastic with "non-slip" bottom) since I've never used one, and your specific pad may have a different material than what I found on my foam-inserts.
I imagine it wouldn't be hard to find all-plastic pads. You should be able to find the original pads non-bundled on eBay somewhere. |

^Can you recommend me a site for the foam pad you're talking about so I can take a look at it. |

There is no specific distributor, really. Just search eBay for foam insert pads. Check the images against those in the Pad Index thread to see if it's the right one. I got lucky and got great pads on my first try (a pair of level 6 dual-USB-PSX foam-insert pads for only $35).
The only foolproof solution, though, is to buy a CF, BlueShark, or build your own... |
