Actually, yes it does. I believe it is in ...\My Documents
StepMania CVS\Data, or you could look in the Program Folder in the Packager (there's an edit .ini safely option there).

Edit: w00t! Post 100!

No. The perfect window is smaller. And the grading is different. I don't know about the marvelous though.

AA's % was booted up to a 95.

Also, someone PM me if we get the metrics for SN. I need to increase my MA/PA cuz it sucks horribly.

I don't think the AA % standards matter in relation to what the perfect window is. People can keep saying "the timing windows are different" but until someone at least posts some specific numbers, this only seems like a matter of opinion. (Has anyone hacked the SN disc yet?)

A couple of interesting thoughts came to mind:

What about Pump it Up timing windows?

What about DDR home version timing windows? (For the mixes that have laxer timing)

These both strike me as interesting, it would be neat to have them if anybody knew...

If you have nothing useful to say, why post other than to make trouble? I'm sure that there are some people who would like to have the option of PIU timing windows, if even just out of curiosity, and someone out there has to have figured them out.

According to Kyle Ward, the timing window for Excellent/perfect is .053000, not .043000!

It says 0.43, not 0.53...

Regarding the question, usually if I have 300 greats, I'm great attacking!

And man, why is it that the "official" StepMania timings are a tiny bit larger than ITG's? I thought it was supposed to be a DDR simulation, what with the DDR judgment names "Marvelous", "Perfect", "Good" and "Boo". I've got craploads of AAA's on it and even a few AAAA's, but I have but one single AAA on DDR at the arcade.

OK, I tried the ITG timing, and it's way too tight for my cobalt flux at home frown.gif Is there anyone who knows the codes for the ps2 itg version? That would be very helpful!

i second the ITG timing. I feel that the window is too tight for ITG compared to the arcade. It's a big difference when i i can 99 13s at the arcade and i have trouble 99ing 9s at home

i'm also trying to set my global offset for my openITG to match the tiny delay that i currently have, but i can never have the correct global offset.

The ps2 version uses the exact same windows, except it has this: JudgeWindowAdd=+0.002
And this yields the same results as the arcade.

TimingWindowAdd=0.001500
TimingWindowHopo=0.250000
TimingWindowJump=0.250000
TimingWindowScale=1.000000
TimingWindowSecondsAttack=0.135000
TimingWindowSecondsHold=0.500000
TimingWindowSecondsMine=0.070000
TimingWindowSecondsRoll=0.350000
TimingWindowSecondsW1=0.022500
TimingWindowSecondsW2=0.045000
TimingWindowSecondsW3=0.090000
TimingWindowSecondsW4=0.135000
TimingWindowSecondsW5=0.180000
TimingWindowStrum=0.100000

Could someone explain to me what the in the groove timing windows would be using stepmania 4.0 alpha 4? I see that the 3.9 version is a bit different. I couldn't figure out what some of the other ones are.

It's pretty self explanatory, W1 is marvelous, W2 is perfect, etc.

Well StepMania came out way before ITG, and ITG was in fact just a custom SM build so it's obvious why ITG has similar timing windows to SM. As far as the SM vs. DDR I was told it was due to the creators not sure if the accuracy of simfiles would warrant tighter timing windows. As far as ITG vs. DDR, I was told it was due to the increased difficulty which somehow meant the timing wasn't as important, plus Fantastic timing was on by default which was tighter than DDR's Perfect window. Soon after DDR began making Marvelous timing windows a little more common (I believe they were selectable only during courses in some of the older PS2 games).
