Hey all. I just got back into DDR after a many-years departure. I'm really happy to be "dancing" again biggrin.gif. I just bought DDR Universe 2 last night with the included Konami pad.

I don't really have any complaints about the pad atm, but I can tell that it will become difficult to play with once I start upping the difficulty on songs.

So, I was wondering what the options are for 360 pads. I'm not terribly interested in expensive metal pads or any serious modding, but I've read a bit about using adapters (say PS2-->360) to allow the use of older pads, and it seems this may be one of the only options as the 3rd-parties don't seem all that interested in making next-gen pads.

Anyway, if y'all could give any advice about what options are out there, which ones are good, which ones suck, etc. I'd really appreciate it.

I have a red Octane Afterburner pad I used with my original Xbox. What are my options on making it work with the 360?

Just on the off-chance someone's had the same problem and explored this particular option...

I've been browsing around the Keep Gaming store for a PS2->PS3 converter, and came across this -- http://www.keepgaming.com/ps2topsdapad.html -- as well as some of the pads they sell specifically for the PS3. According to the specifications, the converter/pads only work with 20GB and 60GB versions of the PS3, not the 80GB version which I actually have. This makes absolutely no sense to me, given that the systems are pretty much identical (the newer 20GB versions can't even play PS2 games!) other than in HDD size, and it's connected through USB.

Has anyone with an 80GB PS3 bothered to try this? If so, does it work? If not, are there any other options, or am I better off waiting for an actual PS3 DDR game?

Is there a problem with having them on the pad?

If you're decent with homebrewing, you can just rewire it to a normal PS3 controller. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you're S.O.L. Since PS3 controllers are USB, you should just use stepmania instead; so much better, so much easier.

I have a Cobalt Flux which only has the PS2 out. Is there a way to use this on my 360 in any way?

I have a trio linker plus which I use to play on my PC, but I'm highly doubtful that the adapter made for PC USB will work on my XBox 360.

Please, can anyone help me out?

You can't. You need a XB360 compatible pad. Adapters won't work.

Of course, if you are handy, then you could make an XB360 control box for your 'flux.

The easiest way would be to take a broken or unwanted XB360 soft pad, take out the 'control box' part of the pad, and wire up a d-sub 15 pin connector to that, according to the pin-out of the 'flux.

Then, you will have a custom 360 control box for your 'flux.

Google is your friend on this, but it has been done.

Good luck!

I have an xbox 360 USB controller (both the official Benmani pad that came with DDR universe 3 and a pad that came with "high school musical 3"), and want to know its compatibility with playstation games.

For example, I have a PS3, and am considering purchasing a PS2 DDR game. Can I use the controllers I already have, or would I need a different one?

I would think that the USB controller I have would work, since there isn't even a way to plug the old playstation version in, but I don't want to sink any money I can avoid

I don't think that the Xbox 360 controllers or pads will work in a PS3, but I don't have any proof or anything to offer as evidence. I just know that both companies like to use proprietary hardware to keep cheap knock-off products off the system. You'll have to check it out for yourself to be 100% certain, but I'm fairly confident in my hypothesis.

There are some converters for the xbox and I think the ps3 that allow you to use wired controllers plugged into converters, and then have another controller plugged into it to dupluicate button presses of the true wired controller.
I'm not 100% if there's one for ps3 though. Definitely one for xbox .

I have two different brands of these for the 360 and they don't work with my dancepads. They can't register Up + Down or Left + Right simultaneously. Hence, you can't do jumps.
