Sorry! An error has occured while running Stepmania.

'_missing' isn't present in 'Themes/default/Sounds'

This happens every time I try and start up Stepmania, so it isn't during gameplay. This has never happened before, and I haven't done anything with the themes in a while, although I did upload some new songpacks.

Can anyone tell me right off the bat what the problem is, or do you guys think it's the songpacks, or what? blink.gif

Just go into the themes folder, then go into default, then go to sounds.

Copy the file "_silent.ogg"

Rename the copied file to "_missing"

There you go problem solved!

Oh God.

I just went to the default theme folder, and all it has in it is the folder for Fonts. This is bad. If my default theme is screwed up... this would explain why I can't start up Stepmania.

I need to fix this. Solutions, anyone? Should I just reinstall Stepmania and start over, or...?

I wonder how this happened. E2.gif

You could either download a theme (the SM website has some links) and put that in the Themes folder or reinstall SM (backing up songs, announcers, etc.) and then you'll get the default theme back.

I have tons of other themes. I don't see how that would help; don't they run off of the basic things in the default theme, too? I already looked through the other themes' folders; nothing useful. E2.gif

I was hoping I could just re-download the *original* Stepmania theme that came with the game, but I can't find it, so there's no way to do that. I guess I'll have to start over...

You don't have to back up anything. Everything stays in the same space. When you re-install, it asks if you want to uninstall. Even if you say yes, the add-ons (themes, songs, etc.) stay.

Yeah, I realized that when I went to uninstall it. It's pretty kickass, huh? E1.gif

Eh, "just in case" never hurts.
