Hello, and welcome to the show.

Getting straight to my question, I just received my shiny new PS2-to-USB converter. It works very well so far, et cetera, et cetera.

My only problem is that it has a slight lag when I play it in Stepmania. Nothing major, but I have to step noticeably earlier than I normally would. Now, apart from having to adjust the syncing of every single song I have, is there a way to adjust the overall syncing to about -02ms in Stepmania?

Answer this correctly and you win a free post.

If you have 4.0, there's something in the options that allows you to adjust the synching (on all songs, of course).

Crud. I only have 3.9. Is it an overly complicated process to upgrade?

I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is download 4.0 and then transfer all of your songs to your new version.

Unfortunately, I've heard that 4.0 is quite buggy since it's new, so you might encounter quite a few errors.

http://stepmaniaonline.com/index.php?mod=Downloads

The version of 4.0 linked directly on that page is the best working version until the next update later this year.

Thanks. If it's as unstable as people are saying though, I guess I should probably just adjust the timing of the songs manually rather than deal with such a headache.

Thanks for the tips!

EDIT: Well, I ended up just F11-ing all of the songs one after another. A long and drawn-out process (I have about 500 songs), but everything seems to be kosher with it now, so... cool.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

EDIT: It worked. It's going to be a pain readjusting all of the songs' timings again, but it will be very helpful in the long run (especially when I download various song packs are want to upload stuff to Bemanistyle.

Thanks again!
