Whatever you do dont use it its the most useless revision yet.

It cuts the song limit to 90 seconds and does not allow you to use the ogg length patch.

FTL, I don't think any songs on ITG are shorter than 90 seconds.

Oh, screw that! A lot of DDR songs aren't even that short! Great, now I get to worry about some local arcade manager accidentally upgrading their machine with this garbage.

Way to pull a Sony PSP, guys.

What am I missing here? R21 appears to be the latest one on the updates page. Did they take it down?

Yeah, that's what they're saying on ITGFreak.

And apparently the time was actually extended to 2:30, but the ogg length patch didn't work anymore.

I'm pretty sure they're wrong. According to mDaWg, who actually tested R22...

I noticed the same thing. Good. So what the hell was the point of this update if the time is actually extended? There appears to be no way to combat the ogg length changer, considering it fools any program that uses audio lengths. We could shorten the time of the song to 15 seconds as said before and then the problem is solved. This update makes no sense to me.

no. it will end at 2:30 no matter what. nothing can be done about it unless hacked.

Annnnnnnnnnd R23 is out.

Quote:
Changes:

* Fix inaccurate input on some kits.
* End all Custom Songs at 120 seconds, even if the music runs for longer. This prevents players from playing for longer than 120 seconds when using .ogg music with inaccurate metadata length values.
* Includes all fixes from Revision 21 and earlier.

So much for 2:30 blink.gif

What possible motivation is there to use this patch?

Arcade managers or owners that don't want players playing 7 minute long songs and upsetting other customers. Plus, the shorter the song, the more people they can get in to play at any given time, thus increasing profits.

120 is still a really bad song length. 130 would have been much better, since many ITG songs (and even a couple of DDR songs like Outer Limits) exceed 120 seconds.

At the very least, they should have made longer songs take up more stages. It wouldn't be a perfect solution since you'd get cheated out of a stage if you were just over the limit (for example, a 2:01 song would take 2 stages), but it would sure be better than this.

Banners FTW, but it kind of sucks that my friends and I can't whore Max Forever when nobody is waiting for a turn. xD

Supposedly Spork was going to talk to Kyle Ward about upping the max time to 2:30, but I guess he either didn't get around to it, or Kyle Ward just plain said no.

If it's 2:01, it shouldn't be too hard to cut the length to 1:59 without ruining the song.

Normal songs cut off at 2:00.

Patched songs at 2:30.

Good news, BGscripts are fixed.
