Nope, you saw it correctly. That show apparently has some horrible editors. I was wondering why the woman didn't say anything after Billy got a "Good", since that would have broken his combo. But yeah, they did quite a bit of false editing there.
Awesome job, Billy! You are indeed the Master of Champions!!! |

Too many cameras to let it in the same camera dudes. Besides, they wanted to put Billy's face of "Am I gonna make it?" and the screen at the same time, wich is imposible. So, maybe they edited it... Whatever, you could still see him. That's what matters!
BTW, the song dosen't go with the steps because they added the song from a file... Probably a StepMania file? _________________

They had to edit the song... I figured it out in a post on the last page...
The song in reality is 1:33, there's a three second period from the point where the song starts and the first jump. To make it seem like he only had 1:30 seconds, they had to abide for the time in between, so they edited the song like crazy to shorten it down THREE seconds...
If you want to test it yourself, play the real MP3 and then play the video at the same time. They're different. |

At least they played the song that he was actually playing. It feels weird watching DDR being played on TV with some non-DDR music playing. I also heard some instruments I didn't hear that much in the original.
That's all I saw, i didn't see the results. Highly impressive, i want to do a stunt with DDR. _________________

Yeah, I completely agree. I'm an arrowsmash player, and thus am a little biased, but I STILL would have handed it to the pizza tossers. Let's face it, most experienced players can play a song like CSFILSM ver well without your torso moving at all. If you can do that, juggling on top of that is just another year of practice.
THose pizza tossers far outway the difficulty of combining 2 not so impossible talents. DDR isn't too bad and juggling isn't too bad, but I guess people were awed when it was combined. The pizza tossers were just crazy. _________________

I think the age of the audience played a part as well. From what I saw during the show, it was mostly a younger demographic. Younger people can probably just relate more to a videogame than the "art" of pizza tossing. I like to look at how long it would take to get good at a particular skill. Getting good at juggling and playing DDR at the same time seems like it would take less practice than learning to pizza toss like the dudes on the show did. |

Exactly. Those pizza guys were practicing their whole lives. Billy learned to do that in a few days. |

What do you mean? In each episode of "Master of Champions", there are three different talent groups of two competitors each. One competitor from each group will get the most audience votes after performing and move on to the final round, which basically means all they can do is hope to be dubbed "Master of Champions" by the judges. Billy Matsumoto was the Master of Champions of that episode. Get it? |

But there are finals at the end of the season where all of the "masters of champions" compete and 1 person or group is crowned the "grand master of champions". |
