|
|
Due to an electronic data error, we failed to receive the winning scores for one of the NAMCO In the Groove 2 National Tournament locations, and incorrectly announced Harold B. of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico as the First Place winner with a 99.66% score. The correct First Place winner is Damien K. of Lenexa, Kansas with a score of 99.925%.
We understand this is a serious mistake on our part, and are already in the process of putting safeguards in place to ensure this does not occur in future tournaments.
As a result, Damien K. will travel to Oslo to participate in the World Cup, and receive the First Prize package of a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads. In addition, because of our mistake in prematurely announcing Harold B. as the winner, Harold will also travel to Oslo to participate in the World Cup, and receive a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads. We feel that this is the fairest way to handle the situation, and our congratulations go to both Damien and Harold!
The 2nd and 3rd Place winners are Travis K. of Overland Park, Kansas with a score of 99.69%, and David S. of Wichita, Kansas with a score of 99.6775%. Each will receive a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads.
We sincerely apologize for this error, and appreciate everyone's participation in the In the Groove 2 National Tournament! Keep your eyes and ears open for future tournament news from your local NAMCO Arcade!!! _________________

On behalf of the Players Union, I want to personally thank you (at Namco) for your swift and immediate response to this issue. You acted in the most fair way possible, and we consider it very impressive. Hat's off! _________________

I really did not expect anything like this from namco after some of the stuff that went on at our Namco DDR tournament. I'm glad to see Namco is really paying attention now and has admitted its mistake and fixed it in the best way possible. Good job and thanks. |

yes I agree, I was afraid that this was going to be a long and painful process of trying to get this resolved, but I'm pleasantly surprised of how swiftly Namco responded to this problem, and the manner they solved it in (giving Harold a ticket to Oslo as well, giving me and Travis 2nd and 3rd place prizes, getting Damien his stuff). Nice work =) _________________

It wouldn't make any sense to play 12s or 13s since you're aiming for the highest percentage. It's much easier to be consistently high on a 9 or 10 than a 12 or 13.
I'm pretty sure they just played two 9s and two 10s. _________________

I'm wondering, how is it that the second place and third place both have higher percentages then the first place that wasn't Damien? |

You got pick four songs and they had to add up to 38 or be higher than 38. Thus, most people picked two 9s and two 10s. _________________
