Remember that ITG Namco tournament thingy?-

http://namcoarcade.com/arcade_main.asp

Ok...so the guy who won got a 99.66 average.

At the tournament in Kansas City-

I got a 398.71 score (99.6775 average)
Reboman got a 398.76 score (99.69 average)
Damien got a 399.70 score (99.925 average).

So, needless to say, all 3 of us had a higher score.

Keep in mind 1st place is a frick trip to Oslo, a PS2, ITG home version, and 2 RO pads.

Namco also promised prizes for the top 3 places. I only see one.

Obviously Namco has made a huge mistake, I'm very upset, Damien is most likely even more upset (he was going to sell the ticket to a friend of his), and we need to do something about this.

So, here's the thing. We need to get in contact with Namco. I'm trying to find a number or email address or something. It would be REALLY nice if you guys could help to and email or call Namco and inform them about the mistake they've made on this.

Didn't they announce a winner at the tournament? And what kind of basis was the scoring on?

No, they announced it today because it's a National tournament, they had to get the scores from each individual one ran.

The scoring was based on you picking 4 songs of your choice, must add up to 38 feet (I'm pretty sure most people did two 9's and two 10's).

Like Dave said, he didn't win. =\

Is it possible that the guy at your arcade, whoever runs it, didn't send in your scores for some absurd reason?

Alright, I'm going to investigate this matter a little bit and if it seems justified I'll involve the players union.

Due to an electronic data error, we failed to receive the winning scores for one of the NAMCO In the Groove 2 National Tournament locations, and incorrectly announced Harold B. of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico as the First Place winner with a 99.66% score. The correct First Place winner is Damien K. of Lenexa, Kansas with a score of 99.925%.

We understand this is a serious mistake on our part, and are already in the process of putting safeguards in place to ensure this does not occur in future tournaments.

As a result, Damien K. will travel to Oslo to participate in the World Cup, and receive the First Prize package of a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads. In addition, because of our mistake in prematurely announcing Harold B. as the winner, Harold will also travel to Oslo to participate in the World Cup, and receive a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads. We feel that this is the fairest way to handle the situation, and our congratulations go to both Damien and Harold!

The 2nd and 3rd Place winners are Travis K. of Overland Park, Kansas with a score of 99.69%, and David S. of Wichita, Kansas with a score of 99.6775%. Each will receive a PS2, ITG Software, and 2 Red Octane Dance Pads.

We sincerely apologize for this error, and appreciate everyone's participation in the In the Groove 2 National Tournament! Keep your eyes and ears open for future tournament news from your local NAMCO Arcade!!!
