i got mine from ebay, and they work fine from 5-6 inches above it to around 6 feet up, and they've been pretty responsive.

Note this was used, and still in mostly good condition. always watch your footing because the sensors, since they're out of view, you can lose where you are pretty easily. I tend to do that sometimes. otherwise it is quite fun, I like it :3
