Heh. We had one on the 9th up here in MN at Burnsville Center. The only people were Me (omglawl!!XD!?), Mike (DJ Phone), Jake (Shadowcol), and Chris (Iamchris4life). The ddrecalls are in parenthesis...I came second while chris came in first. The manager at the arcade also took our scores and sent them in for national ranking. It was cool enough for just 4 people. _________________

I'm going to go to one of these this Saturday in KC. The machine is actually a dedicab compared to a crapocab, and Damien and Reboman will be there as well as me.
Something tells me that the top 3 players will all come from this location. _________________

I think that they should have one in Central Florida instead of in the peninsula _________________

I just read the rules for the National Qualifying aspect of this... I guess I'll have to figure out what 9's and 10's I can be consistent on.
Oasis (H) / Birdie (E) / D-Code (E) / Twilight (E)
sounds simple enough, but I could see myself screwing it up. Too bad I haven't played any of those songs on Single in months. I suppose it's less risk than Xuxa/Charlene and three other 9's, though. I'll keep thinking until Saturday. |

Where can I get these rules anyway? The page the original post links to doesn't have any rules links as far as I can tell. _________________

I'm going to one this Sunday.
My friend went to the Namco DDR one. He told me that they could pick anything they want and anytime you want. Thus, my friend said that the tourney sucked because there were basically no rules. He just played 10s over and over again because the people that went were noobs and kept picking them. _________________

That's the short version.
But yeah, Damien won.
On the National Qualifier:
Damien: 399.70% [Kiss Me Red, Mythology (H), D-Code, Tribal Style]
reboman: 398.76% [Birdie, Flying High, Twilight, Queen of Light]
EvilDave219: 398.71% [Kiss Me Red, Bumble Bee, D-Code, Tribal Style]
Dave and I both pretty much bombed one of our songs (D-Code for him, Twilight for myself).
Damien also performed the impressive feat of getting 0 excellents and 1 great on an Expert song either 2 or 3 times. |

So D-Code is still considered a 10 until ITG3 is officially released, huh?
ALSO: Doesn't Damien already HAVE a trip to Worlds by virtue of his NAT05 performance? _________________

*is Dave, btw*
Damien is planning on selling the ticket to a friend of his to come along with him to Norway, though he might need to work that out with Namco and such, idk.
Whoever created the rules for this tournament should die in a fire. "hey, qualifying song is whatever you want! Oh, and we alternate rounds between songs and marathons! Top seed gets to roll the dice for pad pick ZOMG THAT'S A HUGE ADVANTAGE!!!!!"
fuck you Namco. Atleast I should get something out of it (I highly doubt anyone had a 99.70%+ average who participated in the national tourney outside of me Travis and Damien.) _________________

Just got back from the one out here.
The rules were okay.
They really needed just one all out qualifying song. Cuz that turned out really stupid. Considering my first song I had four pad way offs.
It was basically just play your whore song and qualify highest.
Shoulda had it on random.
Damnit Namco. |

Last question: Isn't BlueMystic in the area of you guys as well? Did he end up not participating, or am I mistaken in thinking you're close location-wise to him?
And yeah, they tried holding one of these at the Cyberstation in Holyoke MA. Long story short is that the legendary Namco Crapocab (What's the deal with these anyway? My understanding is that the Crapocab proper is something exclusive to Namco-owned arcades, but why is this?) struck down the idea when, despite days of one of the workers trying to get it to work, the left side simply would not cooperate. Oh well.
And I just did the math on Damien's average. I think I need a new pair of pants (Not to take anything away from Reboman [Who is not Rebowoman. Because he likes women. But is not gay.] or EvilDave, who both have sickeningly high averages as well.) _________________
