Uhhh....Hi. I've decided to see how many people out there actually like crapocabs. Personally, I perfer them seeing as how my avg. score is around 93% (low because of 75's on v2, pandy, euphoria, and determinator), and i've ***'d a handfull of songs.

Does anyone agree with the statement that crapocabs are ok?

alright, are you talking crapocabs or upgrade cabs?
crapocabs are absolute shit. upgrade cabs aren't bad depending on the condition of the machine it's upgraded from.
that said, i still prefer a dedicab above all else.

My nearest arcade is a namco crapocab.... i only use it to keep my stamina up occasionally when i can't get anywhere else. Scoring wise the difference is 3-10% usually, even though i've ***'d some easier stuff on it(tribal style, charlene, etc)

Upgrade pads stink because you can never be able to consistently make all the steps register on demand, especially holds. For this reason, I would never be able to pass Queen of Light on an upgrade pad, a song that I could get nearly 90% on using an Ignition 2.0 pad at home. Dedicabs work brilliantly as long as the sensors are in good condition. The hardest song I could beat is Summer in Belize on an upgrade pad, VerTex² (hard) on a dedicab, and Euphoria on my home pad. Unfortunately, the nearest dedicab to me is in Austin, TX (about 300 miles away) and I will never be able to get my hands on the home version of ITG2 until next year. frown.gif

All of my scores are on an upgrade, and it is in almost perfect condition. Plus it is possible to score very well on one, for example, my charlene score and all of my other quads E13.gif

The namco machine around here is in ok condition. I actually got a star on Queen of Light with no pad misses. I also FC'd My Favourite Game expert with a 97.xx%.

Upgrade cabinets are just fine if the operator knows how to handle DDR pads. I played ona crapocab in the Wisconsin Dells, other than the poopy screen the pads were actually quite well (well maintained by their arcade). Increadably sensitive actually. The only downside ot the pad was the fact that it had razor sharp edges >_<.

Your probably thinking of an upgrade cab. From what I've heard, crapocabs are FAR from OK.
My first ITG experience was on a dedicab (a really nice one too, ITG Freak gave each panel a 10 except for one that got an 8), and I don't think I could settle for anything else.

That wouldn't be the Illini Union's 2P up arrow, would it? It's only because about five people complained of pad way offs on that arrow. It's been since fixed.

Upgrade cabs can be decent. It depends on how well the machine is maintained. I played on an upgraded cab sometime last year that was pretty good. Problem is, they didn't maintain and now it's garbage. As for crapocabs... ugh. There isn't a single good thing about those things. The first crapocabs didn't even have real pads. They had TX-2000s mounted in a box. Newer crapocabs don't have this anymore, but they're still horrible. The crapocab I played on seemed like it was on the verge of self-destructing even when no one was playing.

This might be a silly question, but what is a crapocab? I have played on upgrade cabinets and dedicabs, but I'm not sure what you mean by crapocab.

Once upon a time, Namco cyberentertainment bought a rediculous ammount of home-made (If you look inside its sad) cabinets with PS2's running DDR Extreme USA version.

Namco pulled the machines and jammed Boxors inside.
