Umm...I was playing a song (Queen of Light Expert) and every hands part I would hit the pad pretty hard, but it wouldn't register. Then when i'd get to a normal part everything was fine though...Is there anything I should know about how to play on an arcade machine,(first time playing at the arcade). I think I might just need to adjust to it. _________________

What type of machine are you playing on? (upgrade, crap-o-cab, or dedicab) |

Emphasis. This is a very important question. _________________

My recomendation is if it is a crapocab, get gloves and use your fist to hit the arrows. Worked for me on the worst of pads _________________

haha
I have another question. Does anyone ever use their hands to hit arrows that aren't necessarily handplants? I wonder if HotN's jump sections (LR D LR D LR D LR D etc.) would be easier if you just jumped and used a hand for the D. _________________

I do this on Zodiac Expert, yes. On the Jump...tri-pul-let-jump...tri-pul-let-jump parts, I just crouch down and do it with my hands. _________________

sometimes the arrows maybe like this
you gotta go on all 4s(hands and feet)
or
as well.
that is prolly the easiest way to go than shifting one foot to both arrows!
it registers better!
songs like BEND YOUR MIND or TWILIGHT are the best examples with these kinds of steps!

or Anubis or Queen of Light.....
Anyways, if you're on a Cobalt Flux or a dedicab, you don't even need to use hands most of the time, ESPECIALLY if you have big feet. 1 foot per 2 arrows, woot!
But, if you have to use hands, I suggest getting into position before the particular hand comes up (Sometimes this is hard due to mines like Vertex2 Hard) and use your hand like you would your foot: Press down firmly and put weight on it.
If my post sounds ridiculous, know that hands almost NEVER give me problems........all the other stuff does _________________

I suggest learning how to do the hands with your feet. There are some songs, like Queen of Light, that are almost impossible to score well on without hands, but I avoid actually using my hands as much as possible. It conserves energy and reduces pad misses for me significantly. |

Like when the arrows are like you could just hit the arrows with your toe and heel? _________________

I tri-starred Qol doing every single hand it has.(afterburner)
But I don't think that'll work on an arcade machine. Besides the fact that I would probably get a stupid miss because I would completely not hit an arrow, but arcade pads would probably not like me using a hand to hold a freeze.
So yeah, If you're on an arcade pad, I would recommend learning to do most of it with your feet. _________________

I have size 11.5 shoes and play on a dedicab, but when I try to do heel-toe on quads it still doesn't work. Should I stomp harder or should I just bend down and do a spiderman-type jump on quads with my hands? |

No. If you two of the arrows just before the and then hit the second two right on the jump, it'll register all four but with the step accuracy of the last two arrows hit. |

I just find it easier to use my hands...my feet aren't big enough to hit two arrows at once and it register on both. I tried QoL on a different machine today, because I went to Islands of Adventure (in Florida) and got a better score than I ever did, but my hands were numb after it.I passed my first 11's today too...Utopia and Destiny. _________________

Maybe you didn't understand me correctly, you don't have to hit all four arrows with two feet. You hit two arrows just before the four-arrow jump and then you hit the other four immediately after right on the arrows. It'll register the second two arrow's accuracy, but it'll still show that you hit all four arrows. It doesn't matter what size feet you have. |
