Hey all, don't post here often, but over the weekend i had the chance to play on an ITG2 cab, which we just recieved at our local theatre a few days ago. As the thread titles says, im sure we now have the worst machine ever. I'll try to list all the problems in a way that isnt too confusing (yes, there are that many E2.gif )

1- our machine is 4 tokens=1$ so i put in my 4 tokens at a normal pace, although it took a while, it actually gave me 7 credits. I'm thinking alright, this is good. So then i press start, which really is where it gets interesting.

2- Right away i notice that every input from the selection buttons, as well as the start button, lag about 5 SECONDS behind actually pushing it. also, when moving ONE direction left, or right not only does it lag, but it acts as though you are holding it, and randomly stopping.

3- LOL okay, so i "choose" a song, but i want to acess options, well, given the above problem, it goes without saying that it was an adventure. I wind up on 3x stomp lol

4-So the game starts, i step a bit before the song. The panels light up, and they register in the stepzone, but when the actual arrows come up NOTHING!! i miss everything, even tho the stepzone IS registering them, i try stepping behind, and early, to no avail.

Now this all pisses me off really bad, as i bought 10 bux worth of tokens that aare NON REFUNDABLE! but of all these problems, there was one that im not too sure about, as i've barely played ITG in arcade, so im hoping that you guys can help me out.

When the song was playing, it would constantly go to the "hold start to quit" screen, with the daker tint and everything. I know of that feature on console versions, as well as SM, but does it really do that on a machine, That is bothering me, because i do have a feeling that im playing a hack/bootleg cab, and just want to know, if anyone can support my suspicion, playing on a similar machine, etc.

Well, that was REALLY long, and i apologize lol. I will leave it at that, and probably copy this post into the boards over at ITG.

Thanks for reading it all!
BTW this isnt meant to turn into a "worst machine, list your experiences here) thing, even though im sure it will happen. E15.gif

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you live in oshawa, don't you?

Unfortunately I can't get you a refund on your tokens, however if you come in and I'm working (My name's Aaron, I'm usually on box office,) I can see if I can get them to unplug the machine. Also if you lose ANY tokens then talk to the person at the podium, they have a bunch.

You probably have a Namco ITG2 cabinet. Those have been known to lag, and they also have TERRIBLE pads.

Well if this is indeed the machine at my work it's nothing special. It's an ITG2 machine with DDR pads, which is why I said in the other thread that it looks like an upgrade. It does have the USB stick slots though.

IM going to go sometime soon, and take some video, with my digicam.

I have like 9 dollars worth left, so they will probably be collecting dust anyway.

Bottom line, with the machine THAT messed up, it should be UNPLUGGED, end of story.

DDR, you didn't answer my question... are you from Oshawa?

If so, don't bother leaving for awhile, we don't open until 6.

[edit] And the machine SHOULD be unplugged. And then plugged back in. Because that fixes it.

for the most part, crapocabs look just like a didder upgrade, but shoddier.

If crapocabs had better wiring and sensors, I would find them superior to Dedicabs.

No, really. I think they feel great. They just die very quickly.

Oh my god, my arcade got an ITG 2 upgrade last week and our machine is doing THE EXACT SAME THINGS!!!! I cant believe that someone out there in DDR world is having the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS on their machine as ours. Every problem you just mentioned, we experienced today.

The machine has been taken away for "repairs" once and they brought it back in even worse condition today. the mechanic was called again. WE dont know whats going to happen.

yes me and Phantasm play at the same arcade.

An update on my machine:

I work again next sunday, so depending on whose in for management I'm gonna pass the note on that it might work better if we moved it to a different outlet. The problem is finding one that it'll go good at E10.gif However, the only person who would care is the GM, who has been trying for months to get our theatre a dance game. Otherwise, I think the earliest I'll see him is thursday frown.gif

And I wouldn't be surprised if it WAS a namco crapocab, since we have the same people do our arcade as Wonderland, which has TONS of crapocabs. (Playdium, if anyone's wondering.)

He tried for months to get a dance game, and came up with that?! Well that sucks, my friend went down and saw for himself, he made a complaint about it as well.

North End Bowl at one point WAS selling ther 5th mix machine. could have been a easy upgrade job. Then again, since its all "playdium" I suppose you need it through them E2.gif They're also "getting" Supernova, so maybe a machine will pop up for sale then?

ill just wait it out.
