Agreed.

Buy a car.

Go to college.

Get a job.

AND THEN, if you STILL want a machine, and actually HAVE the money to buy one AND still have money to EAT, and PAY rent, then yes buy one, but other then that.

Also, Buy a hooker.

Where do people get the idea that buying a personal machine is anything close to a good investment? It's TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS man.

Yeah. It's not the smartest investment. Just have fun going to the arcade. E1.gif

Ohh, you mean pretty much ALL THE KIDS WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR OVER 5 YEARS!!! frust.gif !! frust.gif

Seriously, I'm pretty sure 95% of the people who have played for over 5 years don't get a machine

actually i'd say its more like 99.999%

Wtf are you even talking about. Your post makes no sense. I'm just saying I know people who are much more dedicated and don't have a machine which begs the question of why this dude wants one.

Says the person browsing the ITG forums on DDRFreak.com.

Anyway, I've played for almost 5 years.

I've also seriously considered buying a cabinet (used DDR cabinet including the pads) for about $5000.

But then I thought, what the hell am I doing?

Save your money. Do something with your life first. $10,000 is a LOT of money. Unless you plan on turning your own bedroom into a private arcade supporting a dedi ITG2 machine, possibly a couple PS2/Xbox/GCN/whathaveyou games, don't buy a machine.

DON'T BUY A MACHINE. (to be clear, I'm just emphasizing the point, not yelling)

If you're loaded, buy a machine. I'm assuming that you're not the son of Bill Gates, so DON'T BUY A MACHINE.

The difference being that I have a car and a life with priorities. I would never seriously consider spending my life savings on a dancing game because I've gotten laid, and have common sense.

The fact that you're implying that all people that browse the ITG forums on DDRFreak.com need to get laid says something about yourself.

His post makes perfect sense. Your first post implied that most kids that have played DDR/ITG over 5 years have bought their own machine, and that it's a rare occurence that you know people that have played over 5 years that HAVEN'T bought their own machine.

Um....it really depends on how much you spend.

It'd be SOOOOO much better to get a car, and then use the rest for gas AND itg. I doubt you'll look back in 5 years and say you made a wise investment if you buy the dedi.
