Hello. I am by no means "Rich" at all. I have worked over 5 years minimum wage and havn't bought a car. OK now to the point. I was wondering if I should buy an ITG 2 cabnit or wait for the 3rd one? I was going to plan to have it in my house but im debating that with my parents since they want me to use my life savings for "Other" things....how much is an ITG 2 cabnit and how much do you think ITG3 cabnit will be. Nothing is definet but I am sure if i get one there will be alot of unwanted attention in my town =/ thx guys

PS. rumor has it DDRSN is going to sell for $16k? wtf?

It will probably cost the same as an ITG2 cabinet; $10,000. It is up to you whether or not to spend your money on this, I would buy a car.

Yeah, it should cost 10k and you can get it off of there official website, or if you can find one on ebay, or you can do what i did. Just kill everyone in town, break into your arcade and steal the ITG2Dedi, then move to canada.

It depends on how old you are, your level of education, your financial status, do you have your own home, etc.... If you are through college and have your own home, and are financially secure, then I'd say it would be okay....

But you still don't have a car, and have worked only minimum wage for 5 years.... so if you ARE out of college and have your own place this would be a definite NO, because working minimum wage when out of college and also not having a car is not exactly "financially secure". You've got a lot more important things to worry about.

And if you don't have your own home or you aren't out of college (how old you are/level of education would help a bit here), I think there's lots more things you need to worry about (such as getting a degree, a good paying job, a place to live, buying a CAR) than having a $10,000 arcade machine for your parent's/whoever's home.

In conclusion, my recommendation to you would be a big fat no.

Your parents have the right idea. Listen to them.

Definately buy a car... get a better education (to get a better job), and since you are living with your parents, you don't have to worry about paying as much(or no)rent than with you living in an apartment/renting a home.

Save your money for the future. Seriously, I technically have "enough" to buy a dedicab right now and still manage, but later on I might really need that money.

I think buying an ITG cab is just about the WORST thing you can do right now. I know kids that have played DDR/ITG for over 5 years and havent even bought a machine. Also, my one friend is rich and it hasnt even crossed his mind to explore buying one. It sounds like you need to consider your future a little more closely. I dont want to sound like an ass but I'll be the first to say what everyone else must be thinking: Get in the real world and realize that DDR/ ITG arent life. You might be thinking that this is the coolest/ best thing right now... but focus on the future and realize that you cant leech off of your parents forever. disturb.gif Damn I sound like an ass...

Wait if you have enough money for a $10000 ITG cab, how come you can't buy a car. I think that is alot more important right now.

Well if you really want to can't you just buy a cheap DDR cab and upgrade it or do you want the authentic one.

Ohh, you mean pretty much ALL THE KIDS WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR OVER 5 YEARS!!! frust.gif !! frust.gif

Seriously, I'm pretty sure 95% of the people who have played for over 5 years don't get a machine

Sure it sounds like a good idea now...

...but are you still going to be striving to be the best when your 50?

I'd say go for it if you like...won the lotto.

Actually, it sounds like a totally horrible idea now for someone at that point in their life... and don't knock old people who play

I think mostly the problem is you don't have your prioties straight. You're categorizing want before need, which is common but that doesn't make it right. Now if you were to say... Use the caninet as a way to make unsupecting friends pay money to play and it paid for itself it'd be fine.

I think that arcade machines in general shouldn't be too much of a priority unless you own an arcade and have plenty of money to both buy the machine and take care of yourself. Also, by take care of yourself I don't mean buy an instant dinner once a week and then play ITG2 (since you have money to by the cab and eat once a week).

Not saying that anyone does that, or that you should/would. But hey, I could buy lots of stuff, but there's that fun little thing called college. frown.gif

(But college will *hopefully* land me a good job with which I could buy my IIDX machine I plan on buying. biggrin.gif)

P.S. Your parents are right, there are better things to spend your life savings on.

Yeah, first, get a car and do well in college. Then mabey you can get a machine in a year or 2 nerd.gif . I know ITG is very addictive and hard to get your mind off, but you need to learn how to enjoy other things. Trust me
