I haven't seen many people playing doubles.
Is it because they're afraid that they're horrible, or just are horrible?
I don't know.. there wasn't a thread about doubles, and I thought I'd make one.
This is my best score on doubles so far..
-shrug-
I think I did good. =p |

it's not because we are horrible, most places i'm guessing don't set their itg machines to double or joint premium. i'm lucky enough to have a machine close to me set on double premium, so I do play some doubles. _________________

My local arcade has joint premium. No one plays doubles besides one person.
I don't play. _________________

If my local machine had doubles premium, I'd play doubles. When I played DDR more frequently, I got fairly decent at doubles (passing 9s semi-consistently), but it was just too expensive to play on a regular basis. |

I personally am not a fan of the doubles stepcharts and just stick with singles charts, but I guess not having joint premium is a factor also. _________________

Wow, I'm surprised you guys are that stingy. I've never had a problem paying for doubles. Of course, I've never paid more than $0.75 a game, so I guess if you're paying $1 or more, then I can definitely understand. If I had to pay that much for a game, I'd probably be playing a lot less too. _________________

Are you paying .75 for doubles because that is really good X_X.
I'd have to pay $1.50 a session for doubles which I don't really want to cough up :/ _________________

Most arcades around here are $1 doubles premium. There are some places that charge $1 for single play, meaning it'd cost $2 for doubles or two players play.
The arcade I go to every week is $1 joint premium.
I just don't play doubles because I don't have fun. I don't like the charts. _________________

-shrug-
Works for me!

Our arcade is $.50 for singles, so it's $1 for double, which isn't that bad. It used to be on double premium though, but they found out about it a couple weeks ago and took it off. I mean, $1 for double isn't bad, but $.50 is so much better. _________________

Always seemed worth it to me. _________________

We have .75 for singles, 1.50 for doubles. The reason why nobody touches doubles near us is because the pads really suck. I wouldnt mind paying 1.50 if we had good pads, but if i fail my first song due to a bad pad then no way... _________________

problem for me with doubles is:
1) I don't have two pads to play doubles on at home so I would basically have to learn in the arcade.
2) IF I wanted to learn how to play well at doubles I would go through alot of easy songs like 300 steps per song, Is that really worth it considering thats less then the amount I do for one song on singles?
3) My arcade has a crappy two player pad, therefore I would fail.. alot, and I know because I was playing doubles for a while because I thought that would improve my singles game, and I really thought it wasn't helping much.
4) I'm a teenager who doesn't have a job so paying $1.50 adds up... alot..
yeah I soooo wish I had joint premium.. _________________

I've only seen a few people play doubles, but they did it pretty well but their energy was totally drained. It looks really hard to me and is nothing like DDR. Also cost is kind of an issue cause it's $1.50 for doubles on the machine that I play on. _________________

Doubles seems cooler to me because there is more variety in the stepcharts. I also like moving between the pads, to me it feels a bit more like actually dancing. I do wish we had joint premium though. Also to MAJOR... hi. Yeah doubles does drain me a lot more (I'm probably one of the only people at time out that plays double), but I think it's more fun overall, and that cost is still an issue. I think I'm going to get that rhythm awards thing so I can have free play on wednesdays for working on my doubles skills. _________________

I don't play doubles in ITG because they just don't make much sense
DDR doubles make a lot more sense and I can beat Max300 doubles and the like. _________________
