Resorting songs in endless mode

Ok, I did it once, and I have no idea how and it's driving me crazy.

In StepMania in Endless mode, I did something, and instead of the song list being sorted by group, it was sorted by artist, and the list on the left was filled in with song names and difficulties instead of just "????". I have tried holding down left and right and pressing start like you do in other modes but that doesn't work. How do I do it again?

Anyone know what I am talking about?

You have to press "up down up down" continuously until it changes. You will see group, artist, etc. and then press enter on group to change it back. Hopefully this helps =)

That works, but not in endless mode. If you do that in endless mode, it either does nothing, or it kicks you back into regular play mode.

There is some other trick, I wouldn't think there was except that I did it once.
