Wanted to do the whole dance thing for Christmas. Not interested in game consoles so downloaded most recent Stepmania, some song files and purchased Redctane Ignition pad w/ USB plug and play capability. Using Mac OS X v3.9. Well it worked the first couple times we tried it (my kid even made some steps for songs she converted to step files). But now the pad's not working--arghhh! The Mac recognises the pad in the USB bus hub but no response when step on pad--not in input test or re-mapping or anything. I've hunted all kinds of places for advise but nothing that works so far. Is the pad junk or what?
I'd appreciate any suggestions because it sure seems like it 'd be fun if I could get the sucker to work.

if you have a playstation or xbox you could try plugging it into the controller port there, that way you can determine if the failure is in the pad itself or the usb connectivity.

From what I've read about Redoctane Ignition pads (which is by no means a great deal compared to many people here) it seems that the quality has been hit or miss for many users - I see a lot of people complain about having their pads fail after a few days of use, and a lot of people who have been using them for some time with no problems. It's possible, then, that some of the pads are just defective and you might need to make good on whatever warranty there is for the pad.

Hope some of this helps you

Try to feed the pad it's favorite food.
Maybe its hungry.

Bemani controller forum might have what you need for said pad. Not saying this should be locked or anything.
