Linked from ITGFreak because I'm sure there are at least a few people who don't head over there regularly:

Alternatively, the direct site linked in the thread (in case ITGFreak isn't up):

It's a pretty hot song E4.gif .

Yeah, I do enjoy the tribute song. biggrin.gif I hope it's on ITG3 sort of in the same vain as DDR which was on DDRExtreme AC.

am3pkcet: song's kinda gay.... :-\
am3pkcet: sounds like it was made in someones basement with B-level equiptment
am3pkcet: the eurobeaty part in the last 20 or 30 seconds is the only part i like

Can't please everyone I suppose. One thing you can't argue is it sounds quite stepable.

it just sounds like some amature got a hold of some cheap mixing equiptment/software and wrote terrible lyrics to forgettable, generic melodies.

The lyrics are pretty awful. I like the chorus a lot, but the verses bug me a bit.

In general, though, I really like the song. Kid Whatever tends to have a fairly "amateur" sound to his stuff, but that's really part of his style. He does weird sampley stuff with cheesy synths, and when there's lyrics involved, they're almost always cheesy too. However, it's still a style, like the people who do chiptunes.

And like I said, I love the whole chorus. From "The rhythm... is magic" to "Electronic techno dance pad game," I like the melody and words a lot.

Heh. Brother Mojo (rancidfish) took the words off my mouth. I would like to add that "Electronic techno dance pad game" is an awesome line.

Who listens to Eurobeat for the lyrics?

The song is catchy, and I wouldn't mind seeing it in ITG3.

If anyone's having trouble finding the download link, it's because it's inside a Flash application which on dialup can take several minutes to show up, if it ever does at all.

Here's the direct download link:

http://mp3download.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bandprofile.downloadSong&bsid=2022331&song_name=InTheGroov&fid=14126726

I'm not going to actually link it because the server might have a referer check. Just copy/paste the URL into your web browser or download manager.

It's a great song as long as you don't pay attention to the words. I'm a bit bothered that "dancing In The Groove / let your body move" sounds too much like the lyric "Dance Dance Revolution / keep your body movin" from the Thuggie D song, but I guess there really is nothing new under the sun.
