Yeah, whatever happened to those names they had for the difficulties on some of the older mixes? (catastrophic, superior, etc.) I thought they were kind of cool. It gets old saying stuff like 9-footer or whatever.
Maybe they ran out of ideas when the first 10-footer came out.
Anyway, is there a name that the community has given to 10-footers to make it sound cooler? If not maybe we should come up with something.
Post any opinions or info here. I think it would be cool to see some of your ideas
Some of mine: Demonic, Insane, Apocalyptic _________________

My bad. I wasn't sure how to go about searching for something like this.
Oh well, just another topic that will die out as many others...
EDIT: The initial question has been answered so i guess you can just lock this or something... oh yeah...

Actually it's not done yet - we still need names for 10-13 since there are now 13 footers in ITG. Possible candidates include
10. Apocalyptic
11. Cataclysmic
12. ???
13. ???
I'm out of synonyms for disasters but perhaps sadistic or masochistic would work. Nihilistic might work too. Perhaps 'disasterrific' even though its a made up word from FFX-2. |

I was actually thinking about that too.
Melancholy sounds good to me... I get sad because I can't pass those songs.
Of course you also have to take into account that they could always add even more difficulties in the future... just think of a 14 or 15-foot song. Maybe 13 should be called Pandemonic (Pandamonium + Demonic )
But maye this topic could keep going... I like some of wakkas ideas, that's the kind of thing I was looking for... along with PIE!!!! _________________

First off, no we don't need names. We call them by their rating whatever that rating is (it's an 8), which brings me to... second, ITG doesn't use "feet", it uses little rectangle blocks. People have been so used to DDR ratings that people use them for all dancing games. _________________

First of all I would like to point out that I knew the names for 1-9 since they're in the DDR freak Dictionary.
Second, I'm not going to just ask Konami "hey what name did you pick for 10's?" especially since they apparently didn't make one.
Third, I was mostly interested in if the DDR community had already established something in those regards.
Fouth, even though ITG may not specifically use feet, it still employs a difficulty rating based on 1-13
Lastly... I like names ... even if we don't particularly need them or actually use them _________________

I know this is a dumb reason to bump this thread, but i would just like to point out that DDREX US also uses blocks and not feet so... whatever that thought just occurred to me and i thought it worth mentioning here since it sort of came up earlier, so I didn't have to create a new pointless thread (even though this one kind of was anyway). _________________

Too bad no one liked it, so it seems they put our feet back in. IIRC, they also have the block-bar around the song selector on the songwheel. _________________

That thing I blow my nose in is technically called a tissue, but hell if I won't call it a Kleenex. And don't even get me started on ban-daids...
Anywho, I think think it's an interesting idea to try to name the 10-13 range... though I never knew anything besides the Catas. I say:
10: Apocalyptic
11: Cataclysmic (even though it's a bit close to catastrophic)
12: Ridiculous
13: Ludicrous
...well, I thought that was humorous |

No one cares anymore, so calling a 9 a "cata" would make you sound like a fucking retard. _________________
